No Joba...

GAY

I just got on to take a quick peek at the comments from last night. I stayed up to 1AM my time for that crap?

Henn blows it again! Like I said the other day, I don't know why some of the guys love this guy. I wish that they would just get rid of him.

In fairness to Henn, the pitch that Guillen hit was at his ankles. However, Guillen knew that Henn was going to throw it there. I was screaming (quietly of course cause the wife went to bed) throw it up and away. Give him a different look. But noooooo, he goes back to the same spot with the pitch.

I just hope that we can take the next three. Oops, Moose is pitching one of them so I'll have to settle for 2-3.

Well Bros; gotta get back to the painting. I'm painting the dining room today and if I don't get it done, no supper for me.

And no, I don't have Cheerios in this house so I starve tonight.

Later Bros!

We need a strong start from Wang tonight (boy do we ever) -he is due........

Clemens is the one who REALLY blew this game, but nobody seems to blame him at all??? If HE did HIS job, Henn would never been pitching in the 11th. Clemens turned in another Moose performance and everybody is fine with it???? Amazing!!!

John G.,

Watch out for the paint fumes!

I also stayed up late to try and follow the game but could not ...

We need to win the next two games ...

This has not been a good trip so far.

Seattle has a few games in hand ...

Funny we may wind up with the best record since May 30th and still not make the Playoffs ...

Ant

The 1981 Reds had the best overall record in baseball... and didn't make the playoffs because the split the season into first half/second half winner because of the strike

Rick,

I agree with you 1,000%!

Clemens really $ucked last night and din't do the job. It looked like he was really laboring and didn't get into any kind of a groove.

However, the Yanks came back and made it a game. Henn just couldn't get the job done.

For the life of me: I just don't understand why guys as big as Henn throw from the stretch all of the time. How can they generate any power if they aren't driving off of their legs?

I know why they pitch from the stretch, but I think it's bogus.

I hope that we're not the 2007 version of the 81 Reds.

That would blow!

Ant Man,

Too late! The paint fumes have taken over!

Jeter needs to HIT!!

who is available from the bullpen tonight?

When was the last time Giambi saw some action? Wasn't he hitting the ball when he got in?

Problem with Giambi is that when he is in the game the team becomes a station to station team hoping for the 3 run homer...Its tough to do that when the team is clisking on all cylanders.

The team has totally abandoned small ball, but that has as much to do with the roster as it does the manager. Tough to hit and run when you either have big power hitters and faster young guys who swing and miss as much as Cano and Cabrera do.

Overall, we need to be thrilled with where the team is right now. Is someone told you a week before the All Star Break that they would be 2 games out of the playoffs you'd sign up in a second.

Forget the Red Sox. That lead is too big and their pitching is the best in the AL if not all of baseball. I actually wish they didnt have to play each other again this year.

Seattle will be tough to overthrow. Not only are they playing great, but they have a ton of games left with crap teams and the 40 games in 40 days won't be a big factor as the rosters expand in a week.

Did Wang's performance calm everyone who was saying he was hurt down a little bit? I think this is a start of a big OCtober for him.

Gun to my head I dont think they make the play-offs this year, but it has still been the most exciting season I've seen in a long time with the exception of the 1 week Boston Mascre at Fenway last year.

US$ 1,873.00

US$ 101,818.00

The first number?

What Hanley Ramirez makes per hit.

No typos.

The second number?

What Jeter makes per hit.

--correction to the wang comment

I meant "Big September"
not
"Big October"

although I hope the former comment is profetic

If you look at the level of consistency with which a team plays an overall season you get some hints as to what a potential outcome is. The Yanks are sub.500 on the road, sub .500 against LHP, sub .500 in 1 run games, sub .500 against the East, sub .500 against the West and they are 27-9 against the Central. Seattle on the other hand is above .500 in all these areas and they are above .750 against the East. It would appear that Seattle has obviously been playing consistently well over the entire season, difficult to understand how this type of overall play somehow suggests a team is going to fade. If any team has the potential to fade it would appear to be the Yanks. Hard to play poorly and then rely on playing .750 baseball for the stretch run. Last ten games 5-5 puts the Yanks back on the win one lose one treadmill. Hard to see this team playing much above .500 the rest of the way. The overall pattern has begun again.

With Mussina going tomorrow, it is important the Yanks win today, and know they at least have a "split". The Mussina game is also important as the Yanks want to avoid a "blowout\downer" heading into the R\Sox series. Once the rosters expand, I hope Torre uses a "quick hook" on Mussina.

msg4ever your analysis is like your head empty....
If you knew anything about baseball you would know that baseball has a way of evening itself out....
The Yankees got off to a terrible start due in part to a lot of injuries but been playing great since the All-Star break....
In reality,Seattle has been playing over their heads and will cool off.

If you look at the big picture, the Yankees have done fairly well since their schedule has shifted into a more challenging mode. Starting with the Toronto series in early August, they are 11-7 against some good teams, much of which has been on the road. They swept the Indians in Cleveland and took 3 of 4 from the Tigers a week ago. IF they can manage to win the next two coming home for the Red Sox, they will be riding a 13-7 streak against some pretty good teams.

There is obviously much work left to do, but it is not all doom and gloom in Yankeeland. Let's just get back to being focused on winning each series and the rest will fall into place.

Anon, I don need to compare resumes with on Baseball, safe to say my experience is professionally based as a player and a coach, so I understand the nature of 162 games. Your analysis of evening out is rock headed. The most consistent teams usually walk away with the best 162 game records, not necessarily the best short series records, ie ST Louis beating Detroit. You can wish and hope for the Yanks to win and for Seattle to fade, yet the truth is the patterns over 162 games suggest the Yanks are far more capable of fading as in sub .500 in almost all categoires except their domination of the Central Division, in fact of all the contending teams left the Yanks have been the most inconsistent and over the last 12 they are 5-7 which reflective looks a lot like their first 3 months. Only time will tell the story but if I was handicapping I would say Seattle is a better bet for the WC then the Yanks, and I hope for your sake the Yanks do win the WC The next 20 games will determine it.
