Here's the lineup for tonight's game. Roger Clemens, who isn't starting, said he feels very confident that he will be able to pitch in the postseason (assuming the Yankees are there of course). Brian Cashman said that if today were the last day of the season, and the Yankees were in the playoffs, Clemens would be pitching.

Is there an APB to find Shelly Duncan?
Has Duncan recovered from his hernia, etc.?
Holy Cow!
Manny is playing!
2 batters into the Yankee game and it is already over
what's an APB?
All points bulletin
Igawa pitching for a potential playoff-clunching game? Has Torre completely lost it?
IGAAAAAWAAAAAA!!!!!
This is obnoxious.
I feel insulted.
I've been so goddamned loyal and patient and now with a week to go I gotta watch this JackA$$ try and ruin any chances for champagne?
I'm glad we didn't get Gange and I'm glad we kept all our little youngins Joba/Kennedy/Hughes..
But everytime I see this dude I think Pavano/K. Brown/J Wright and KEI IGAWA the FIRST 40MILLION DOLLAR MINOR LEAGUE PITCHER IN THE HISTORY OF BASEBALL!!
GOD HE SUCKS!!
WE'RE GONNA NEED ATLEAST 15 RUNS TONIGHT!!!
If Delmon Young wasn't half retarded that inning would've went on for another 10 mins...
Good to have you back, Phucker. I enjoy your in game commentary quite a bit.
I join you in the Ughawa non-fan club. I think this is possibly the worst move of Cashman's career and that says a lot.
Jim A.
"UghGawa" is fine work on your part ;-)
Good to be back my friend...
Don't you guys realize that it wasn't Cash's move?
Cash DOES NOT do international scouting. Cash DOES NOT agree to large posting fees.
What Cash said: I don't like the FA pitching market.
What happened: Yanks had no intention of signing Igawa. They made a moderate bid for Dice K, assuming the Mets were going to win him and they could live with that. Then, the Sox won him and 'ol Georgie boy flipped and said strike back now. They bid higher than anyone expected by about $10 million on the posting and justified it all based on the revenue sharing/luxury tax.
This wasn't a Cash move, no way.
151 RBI'S!!!
HAHAHAHAHA
This bastard better not leave us...
HYD,
See, that's where I'm not sure about the Igawa thing. I don't think George was behind it. George has been "out of it" for a while and I'm certain he didn't do this. Cashman has spearheaded the international thing for the Yankees for a while now and this was his baby. Obviously, it was a reaction move to DiceK, but I don't think George ordered it, I think he approved it, but didn't order it. I also think the business side of the Yankees, Randy Levine, had more to do with it then George. I think they wanted to keep a share of the Japanese market that they felt they were giving up to Boston. The Yanks probably felt they needed a Japanese pitcher to go along with Matsui and to keep up w/ Boston's two pitchers.
HYD,
Gotta go with Jim on this...
From what I've heard about "The Boss" it sounds as though the poor old timer may be senile and that doesn't just happen over night. I'm not sure he's not been virtually "fazed out" at this point...
You want proof??
WHY ELSE DO WE STILL HAVE 3 TOP TEN PITCHING PROSPECTS!!LOL
Phuck- A-Rod knows we need 15 tonight so he's taking care of business! 10 more runs and I'll feel comfortable.
Let's see if Kei can get through this inning without a walk.
Cross,
What do you think Kei's WHIP is?
I'm guessing something north of 3...
Georgie made a deal with Cash. Basically, it went like this:
You fix this or you're fired, but I'm gonna let you do whatever you need to.
Paraphrased, but true. It was discussed during the "Big Hook" remarks. There were more details if you read all of the stories and the full transcripts from interviews.
Georgie said "F the Sox" last winter and pulled the trigger on Igawa. Cash couldn't come up with those numbers, that's for sure. Levine contributed, clearly.
HYD,
That's what I'm saying, about all George is capable of doing these days is two things: Signing checks and flipping the bird at the Red Sox. I just don't think he came up with the idea, he was just woken up, and asked to sign a check. He may have asked "for what" and Cash and Levine said "the Japanese pitcher" and the rest is history.
ho hum...two runners on for a boy named Kei. What else is new...
okay, I just turned the f&^%%ng tv off because I cannot stomach watching this little motherf%^&ing ba&tard anymore.
WTF????
"THE OTHER-Japanese pitcher"
$hit!!
I hate this guy!!
I'll say this, for whoever thought it was a good idea to acquire Kei "Ughgawa"...
THE SCOUTS ALL HAD HIM ABOVE OKAJIMA!!
Okajima was basically supposed to be Dice K's manslave 9 months later we're looking at history's ugliest yankee.
Seriously...Has there ever been an uglier Yankee ever?
Kei looks like one of those sad awful folk who audition for American Idol LOL
The friggin' 4th inning and I'm already breathing in a paper bag. Thank god I'm bald (I've never said THAT before) because I'd be pulling my damn hair out watching this little sh*t.
Think I'll record the rest of the game and go run for a while, with my fingers and toes crossed. I'll check in later boys...
WOW!!
DID ANYONE ELSE SEE THAT GUY HECKLING ABREU SO LOUD THAT IT BLED INTO THE MICROPHONES AS LOUD AS MICHAEL KAY AND LEITERS BROADCAST!!!
I've never seen a man heckled this loud EVER
And there's a base on balls, ladies and gentlemen.
KEI IS PITCHING A SHUTOUT!!
So far it is a shutout. But, 78 pitches, with 5 walks, in 4 innings of work against the Devil Rays puts it into a bit of perspective.
is someone really heckling Abreu? Who the f*ck that live in Tampa cares about Abreu that much?
Kei, working on a 2-hitter! This the 1-2-3, 10 pitch inning?
was that less than 10 pitches? is that still Igawa?
Cross
I SWEAR THEIR WAS A MAN HECKLING BOBBY SOO BAD THAT I FELT SORRY FOR HIM
And I'm not Abreu's biggest fan by any means...
HAHAHA
Got to hand this one to Kay...
"The relief pitchers for Hammel (D-Ray pitcher) this year have been arsonists"
LOL
ARSONISTS!!!
I HATE Kay but that was pretty good.
WHO THE F%$K IS JORGE VALANDIA!!!!
Tomorrow's headline?
THROWAWAY PITCHERS
THROW AWAY GAME
Okay presuming we make a comeback against the "Arsonists" are they really gonna celebrate w/champagne and all the glory that comes w/the division clinch?
LOL
I only ask because it's been quite sometime since the last "WC" birth celebration...
