Yankees up 8-0

The Yankees now have an 8-0 lead. Joba Chamberlain and Ian Kennedy each pitched two scoreless innings with two strikeouts. Kennedy allowed one hit, Chamberlain none.
Alex Rodriguez has three RBIs and Jorge Posada two RBIs. Posada has a double and a triple (yes, triple) off the top of the rightfield wall. Bobby Abreu has been on base three times.

Wow! Kan't Keep up w/ Kat, Keep it coming Kool Kat O!

Posada a triple?! Keep the scorecard!

Did everybody fall down?

Posada has said that's the only way he's likely to get a triple...

;-)

Igawa started the sixth... walked two, hit one, and gave up a grandslam. To a college kid! Great investment.

Is that true about Igawa?

I am a fan of Cash, but signing this japanese cook was worthless. As much as i hate to side with Ant Colony, Lilly would have been a better investment!

Yes, it's true about Igawa.

I think it's safe to say we won't be seeing much of Igawa this season on the big club.

Just get rid of this chump one way or another and be done with this experiment. He's just blocking some young kid with talent from making an impression with the Yankee coaches.

Signing Lilly would have been a stupid move too. Ant loves to harp about so much dead weight on this team, but doesn't realize that Lilly would be at the top of that list had the Yanks signed him last year.

Lilly wanted a 4-yr deal - which means he would already be blocking Joba or Kennedy's progress and move to the rotation and continue to block their progress for the next 3 years.

Igawa's suckage has turned out to be a blessing in disguise because he's not going to block any of the young kids from progressing.

Well Santana gave up a 3-Run Homer in his first inning and I don't see the Mets fans panicking! Hahahaha....Igawa: The legend grows. I heard he has learned some phrases in English:

1. "Ball too big!"

2. "I not pitch so good today".

3. "How far Scranton from here?"

Wasn't there a wild pitch in there too?

My spring optimism, which I extended even to those who had shown us the least last year, is being SORELY TESTED HERE!!!

What's the score?

"My spring optimism, which I extended even to those who had shown us the least last year, is being SORELY TESTED HERE!!!"

Diane, if you're going to get bent out of shape after a Spring Training game, you may want to find another sport to root for.

Lilly would have been a good signing! Igawa can't even cut it as a ball boy. Face the facts Viper.

Dana, my off-season sport is politics, and believe me baseball is better in every respect.

Fehr is going to call for an investigation of lying and cheating in Congress any day now...

;-)

WOW! Whatever confidence Igawa might have had has to be gone. Ya know it is pretty windy down here in Fla today. Maybe it was wind aided :)

Face what facts? That Igawa sucks and Lilly was just an average pitcher?

I said more than a year ago that neither Igawa nor Lilly was the answer for this team.

Why is that so difficult for you to understand?

They didn't need another career .500 pitcher on this club. More dead weight blocking the kids from proving their worth.

Wow...all this anger and the Yanks WON 11-4. I thought this was a season of lowered expectations?

No surprise Igawa was terrible. Looks like he picked up right were he left off.

Most of us hoped Cahman would go for Lilly instead, I know I did.

Spilled milk...

Why do you open your mouth Hank??? I hate you....

"Red Sox Nation?" What a bunch of [expletive] that is," he said in an interview with The New York Times' Play magazine. "That was a creation of the Red Sox and ESPN, which is filled with Red Sox fans.

"Go anywhere in America and you won't see Red Sox hats and jackets, you'll see Yankee hats and jackets. This is a Yankee country. We're going to put the Yankees back on top and restore the universe to order." - Hank Stienbrenner

Sigh. Just shut up, Hank.

You should be more like your brother and stay away from the media.

Then you can talk about how you need a date the one time you do give an interview.

I find Hal much more useful than Hank.

Oops. That last comment was mine.

Well, so far Joba looks like a starter to me. What a curveball! Our kids are gonna do great.

Just handle with care, Joe G. And make 'em all run.

Bullpen is gonna be great too -
Horne
Melancon
Aldajebo (or something like that)

Lets go Yankees!

Howdeehoe - Jim A., Viper, OYF, Diane, HYD, Rick Keyes and any other Yankee fan I may have forgotten.
Hope everyone had a great winter.

Hank Rules!

Mike from Jersey and OYF,
Welcome back! Good to see you folks coming out of hibernation.
