Rodriguez: no reaction to Canseco

Alex Rodriguez brushed off Jose Canseco's accusations against him, choosing to ignore what Canseco levied against him in his new book.
The website Deadspin found excerpts of Canseco's new book "Vindicated" from a freelance writer, Joe Lavin. According to that, Canseco said he "introduced Alex to a known supplier of steroids." Rodriguez said, "I really have absolutely no reaction."
When told that Canseco also accused Rodriguez of trying to hook up with Canseco's wife, Rodriguez raised his eyebrows and asked, "He said that in his book?", then said, "I have absolutely no comment."
According to Lavin, Canseco closed a passage as follows: "So A-Rod, if you're reading, and if I'm not getting through to you, let's get clear on one thing: I hate your --- guts."
Rodriguez said that was pretty obvious already.

I wouldn't be surprised if we turn on the news someday and find out that Canseco went on some kind of homicidal rampage.

Dude. Is. Nuts.

Maybe it's.... wait for it...

ROID RAGE!

Seriously, though the guy needs to be committed.

Here we go again!

I hope you all confirmed this story with the publisher before moving forward with it. Joe Lavin's site is a humor site filled with his humor writings. I don't think it was supposed to be taken seriously.

Ben K,

Its been widely reported on ESPN and FAN as well as prior to the Mitchel report. The question is now that the season is here do we want to get into this discussion again?

Thats ESPN radio!

Billy: I don't doubt that Canseco's book will have something on A-Rod; I'm doubting this early review because of the site its published on and the details in the story.

"So Nudge, if you're reading, and if we're not getting through to you, let's get clear on one thing: We hate your --- guts."

Well at least we don't have any steroid heads on our team. Alex"the supposed best player in baseball" Rodriguez is defitnitly a roid head. I will give him one thing though......Cansecos ex wife is defitnitly hot. Hotter than his wife. Sox rule.......roid heads suck! World Series here we come!

Ben K.

Yeah I know there is no love lost between the two for a while now. But what Kat reported was consistent with accounts from those who claim to have gotten an early copy of the book. Its all ho hum to me. Play ball already.

Anon,

We get it you don't like Nudge! What else have you got besides that? Your clogging up the security codes with useless attempts to do .. I don't even know what your trying to do. If your a Yankee fan you should be talking about the Yankees. If your always talking about Nudge it does make you sound like a Nudge fan. Or stalker.

Looks like Ian struggled a bit today. 5 hits and 4 walks. He has been better than Hughes to date at least so far. Did anyone see the Melky error? Did he drop a ball or just misplay it? Seems like it opened the flood gates for 4 runs.

Again, I don't get angry at Jose for the same reason I don't get angry at a dog who craps on my lawn. It isn't the dog's fault, he's just doing what dogs do. As long as someone is willing to endulge Jose he is going to keep making claims. He made a bunch in his last book and sure enough, some of them were right, so now he'll make a few more and if there's no fire behind the smoke he is putting out there, so what, he's still got the money from two books.

Incidentally, Jose could have introduced Alex to a known steroids dealer - doesn't mean Alex used anything, just means that Jose could have been talking to a steroid dealer and said "hey Alex, mean (insert name)" Thus Alex was introduced to a known steroids dealer.

Chip,

I really think the wife angle of this story has more legs than the steroids angle. Sex always sells best. Either way just about everything that can be said about the steroids subject HAS been said. So lets all move on. Until it involves suspensions it has no effect on the games about to be played. A-Rod is who A-Rod is. I really don't care what players do in private so long as it doesn't hurt others. If Cansecos wife was in his 5, well Ms. Rod will deal with it.

Billy B,

Nice try but your wasting your keystrokes. These anons are like addicts. They can't control themselves. The also do amuse me!

SHUT UP NUDGE YOU LOSER

i amuse myself with my right hand

Not a believer in ST stats but it's encouraging to see Cano and Giambi going to the opposite field quite a bit.

Not sure why Patterson was only allowed to pitch to one hitter, but it's likely he's not going to make the club out of ST.

He and Ohlendorf will be on Cashman's speed dial because I think Bruney is going to make the team and we all know he can't throw strikes with any consistently.

I thought you said you were out of here.
Another self contadiction of course.
Stupid proving stupid again.

Me funny

All seven runs scored against the Yanks today were unearned.

Don't see that happen very often.

You can give Rasner his bus ticket. BS/ L today

Billy: Melky dropped that ball and sadly, it wasn't the sun. He was under the ball in time, had his shades down, and just didn't handle it.

Great Job Everyone who jumped to conclusion on this article. (cue sarcastic applause)

IT"S A JOKE!!!

No, let's completely ignore the fact that the article was written by a guy who writes a "Humor Column." No... Let's just all burn A-rod at the stake.

Confused.......who's burning A-Rod here? I haven't seen a bad word about him yet. Maybe you jumped to the conclusion that people jumped to the conclusion!

Look...its a jump to conclusions mat!

There are some real nut jobs on this blog. No wonder they wont give their names.

Hughes,

Thanks for the details. Yanks need to get a good kid here quick to play center because Melky never makes me feel too comfortable. I was hoping Gardner might work his way in.

LOL LOL LOL

OMG...LOL...how amusing is this? Nudge defends Sully because a Yankees fan wonders why a Red Sox pitcher was removed so soon from a meaningless ST game and Nudge proceeds to tell everyone that Yankees management is wrong, that their goal is to win ST games as though they were regular season or World Series games --- and not to work on problems and develop new pitches (why that's so hard to understand is beyond me, my 2 year old gets it). Cartman is nowhere to be found during this discussion but knows about every single post and everyone's intentions and comes to Nudge's rescue. Then Billy B shows up only when some Anonymous poster insults Nudge. Billy B out of nowhere has become extremely passionate about defending Nudge who has suddenly become so passionate about defending the Red Sox, and Cartman now becomes the site's moderator in defense of Nudge as well. Oh, yeah, this makes tons of sense...LOL, LOL, LOL. I come here more because it's like visiting the zoo with Nudge, Billy B and Cartman in the same cage.
