Q-Tip whatcha on the mic for?
One of our all-time favorite lyricists, the Abstract, the legendary Q-Tip, is delivering the pyrotechnics for tonight's season opener at the Garden. A new version of the "Go NY Go" song from the 1990s -- decent chant, but that song was too wack to play in the car -- that I heard him rehearse earlier this afternoon on the Garden floor with the KCDs.
Trust me, Fixers. You're gonna want to download this one when it's available after the game on nyknicks.com.
Be sure to hang here during the game and check Hot Rod Boone's live blog. I'll jump back after the game once I get off the train.
Enjoy!

that song was wack.
agreed, crowd wasnt into it either..
mardy over steph? gross
Q-Tip isn't really a "lyricist" lol... More of a performer.. a MC... crowd mover... showman... His lyrics were never nothing special especially as a solo artist.
Yeah Q-Tip is a lamer. I just wanted the game to start and he was making me sick and annoyed.
Knicks need that killer instinct just like Clyde says.
Good win. It looked like they got bored with the Heat in the 4th. They let them come back. I still think the road victories will be their biggest challenge. Lets see. We got beat Philly next. They gave us some serious beat downs.
just got back from the game. can't believe there were actually some fans chanting "we want steph" i think the majority drowned them out though.
you're up 20 in your home opener, with your team looking really crisp, and really good. *really* like an actual team. perfect time to start chanting for a guy who's been the center of 5 straight losing seasons. brilliant idea.
I don't think its a shocker that Steph rid the bench tonight. Anucha still looms over his head. They took his graphic down the web site months ago. They are waiting to trade him. Someone will be desperate enough to bite for a trade. Whom, how, where? Maybe Miami. But Steph ain't staying...
Lord Lunesta must be turning in his grave with this win.
Starbermans' love toy needs to be consoled by takeing 10 Lunesta pills
and Crawful did a lot of 'catch & shoot' in ur faces, u naysayers
a new season, a new life, a rebirth for da Knicks
no BS, just ball talk.
I like the way D'Antoni is lighting a fire under Curry and Marbury. Either they will step up and fall in line or be gone. Either way, I like the message he sends to the team.
Knicks keep the Coney Island Cupcake and Lazy Eddy on the pines and get the W.
There's a moral to that story, oh members of the Posse Nation.
I think the crowd was seeing how lost Mardy looked on offense and was chanting for Steph. Mardy committed some unacceptable turnovers but looked decent on D, especially on Wade. At least he kept people in front of him. Nice win, but we won the opener last year too. This was also the worst team in the NBA last year. Team looked like a team though, then all the 1-1 garbage started and Nate had to take over.
We need a rebounder/shotblocker and we'll have a decent year.
