If you doubted Kobe Bryant's greatness, or just want to sit back and appreciate it, check out this YouTube highlight clip of Kobe doing a number on the Spurs last night -- courtesy of SportingNews.com.
The Lakers were down by as many as 20 on their home floor midway through the third quarter while Kobe was, as Phil Jackson put it, vacationing in the Bermuda Triangle instead of running the triangle offense. But Kobe returned, and he didn't just take over this game with the ball in his hands. He set up Pau Gasol for alley-oops and layups and generally showed why he deserved the MVP trophy and why he is the most amazing singular talent left in the NBA postseason.
I still won't count the Spurs out, and nobody should draw any conclusions about this series until someone wins in the other team's building. But I don't want to make predictions. I just want to watch Kobe be Kobe and anticipate the defensive adjustments Gregg Popovich will make for Game 2. Because Bruce Bowen and Ime Udoke didn't have the answer in Game 1.
