Warriors make big play for Brand (UPDATE)

We discussed earlier today how Chris Mullin's next move would be to make an offer for the Clippers' Elton Brand after losing Baron Davis to L.A. and finishing a distant second to Washington for Gilbert Arenas.

Sure enough, Jonathan Abrams of the L.A. Times confirms that the offer has been made -- and it's a BIG one.

UPDATE 3:43 p.m. Janny Hu of the San Fran Chronicle pegs the Warriors' offer at five years and between $85-$90 mil -- about $20 mil more than the Clippers offered.
