Huntington boxer dedicates fight to Amanda Malloy
Huntington welterweight Chris Algieri used to give karate lessons alongside Amanda Malloy at the U.S. Karate Academy. Even as Algieri migrated to kick-boxing, then boxing, Malloy remained one of his biggest supporters.
In this video, Algieri talks about Amanda Malloy
Malloy, a 29-year-old elementary-school teacher and karate instructor, was killed while jogging earlier this month after she was struck by what police say was an intoxicated driver behind the wheel of a sport-utility vehicle. Algieri said he still feels the loss of Malloy every day.
On November 25, Algieri (4-0, 3 KOs) climbs back into the ring at the Huntington Hilton on Route 110. He is dedicating the fight to Malloy and the promoters will donate a portion of the proceeds to a foundation that has been established in her memory. The card also features Medford heavyweight Derric Rossy (19-2) and junior middleweight contender Tarvis Simms (23-0-1).

This is a very classy thing to do- I wish this guy, and the Malloy family, all the best.
Okay guys, I just found your blog. Tell me who, in your opinions and in their prime, was the best out of these two fighters (they just happen to be my favorites)
Alexis Arguello and Marvelous Marvin Hagler.
Thanks for dropping the note on the blog. As for your question. Wow. That's extremely difficult to answer. They were both such different fighters. They are both all-time greats. I would have to say, without studying their records, that Arguello was better.
Arguello was, in my mind, one of the most underrated fighters of all time without a doubt.
I had the pleasure of meeting Hagler once and I was surprised by his size as I didn't expect him to be on the small side as he is because he fought, it seemed, like a heavyweight.
You can't always go by records either though because Hagler got robbed against Sugar Ray Leonard!
