Frank Trigg challenges Roy Jones Jr. to an MMA fight
Roy Jones Jr. has already promoted a boxing-mma card and there has been a lot of chatter about him fighting Anderson Silva.
Now, this came in the Inbox from mmaclassics.com:
Perennial top ranked MMA superstar, Frank 'Twinkle Toes' Trigg, has answered the boxing legends' call for an MMA fight and is actively pursuing putting an MMA match up together. Trigg, a former collegiate wrestling star from the University of Oklahoma - turned MMA champion - believes that if the former boxing champion is serious about fighting MMA, then
this fight has the possibility to shift the combat arts landscape.
"Roy, welcome to my world... where the business model severely limits an individual athletes prospects for competition and commerce unless you tow the party line. If you want to be taken seriously in the MMA game, step into the cage with me and see where you stand - literally.
Make your case to the powers-that-be who say that you are not qualified. You're a real athlete, in fact one of the best combat artists ever ... if you'd like to challege yourself and your 'sweet
science', now is the time."
Trigg says there is a promoter in Florida willing to promote the bout.
"Let's do this Roy," he says in the release. "Give the power back to the athlete & the fans. Let's find out how your science matches my up to my art."
