Manny Pacquiao dominates Ricky Hatton

For the second straight fight, Manny Pacquiao has completely dominated a bigger fighter.

In this fight against Ricky Hatton, and his last one against Oscar De La Hoya, that makes a total of nine straight rounds that Manny Pacquiao hasn't even been threatened. He hasn't lost a round in either fight, it could be argued that he didn't lose a second of either fight. And that's against two pretty good fighters.

This is Manny's fourth straight fight in a different weight class.

What is amazing is that he seems to be getting stronger -- he dropped Hatton with both the right and left hands -- as he gets older (and as he climbs in weight).

At the presser Manny says: "Nothing personal, I'm just doing my job in the ring. I hope you all liked the fight."

Pac Man vs. The Hitman. We now know who the "man" is. Consider this, Pacquiao landed 73 punches in 5 minutes 59 seconds of fighting. Hatton threw 78.

Pacquiao has now won 10 in a row and a sixth title.

ESPN is showing live highlights of the fight. Remember the days during PPV fights when the news outlets, including ESPN, were forced to show still pictures of a PPV fight?

It's silly that Bob Arum just dissed the Floyd Mayweather-Juan Manuel Marquez fight because Marquez shouldn't be fighting at that weight. Isn't that what his own fighter -- Manny Pacquiao -- keeps doing? Also, Arum says Marquez should be fighting Soto, who also happens to be an Arum fighter.

How rare is it that boxing and horse racing will dominate the news in the same day? There was a time in this country that boxing, baseball and horse racing were the three major sports. The last time those two got this much attention was when Oscar fought Mayweather Jr. on Kentucky Derby day.

Nice work by Freddie Roach at the postfight presser -- "Manny makes me look good..." and then ... "I'm the best trainer in the world because I have the best fighter in the world." He gives all the credit to the fighter. (Similar statements by Calvin Borel, who rode Mine that Bird to the Kentucky Derby victory today, when he was asked how he won the race, Borel said, "The horse won the race.") I'm betting Floyd Mayweather Sr.'s comment would have been different.

Everyone is being evasive about Pac Man fighting Floyd Mayweather Jr., but that fight has to happen.

Take note New York boxing fans. They just said that Manny Pacquiao will be at the Boxing Writers Association of America dinner on June 12. Then he will attend the Miguel Cotto-Joshua Clottey fight the next night at Madison Square Garden.

For at least the fifth time I've seen on HBO and ESPN, Manny is asked if he wants to fight Floyd. He remains non-committal. "I can fight anyone I want to fight at 147 or 140," he says. Good for him.

hatton is only good at talking..

Another one bites the dust! keep it up Cassidy!

Ricky Hatton hahahaha
Floyd Mayweather Sr. bwahahahaha

Pac-Man and Hitman both great fighters, what they really did for boxing is made it a good to look back on, remembering days of old. they breath new life into a sport clouded with deceit and pickup-dirt. They showed sportsmen class through and through.

Watched the HBO series and met Hatton in the Airport. PacMan incredible smile and charm.

Well Hatton may have lost but in person he is true Sportsman to the people. PacMan is real lift is humble and softspoken.

Thank you guys for your make at boxing and letting it be great once again.

NBC

Mayweather Sr., so much talking but poor coaching......a headline for the Brits...God may have saved the Queen, but Ricky was not....25,000 Brits went to Vegas to see their kid kiss the canvass...Mayweather Sr. is true to his word, there will be a KO...but never thought it was poor Ricky....what an idiot....

Congratulations to Manny! You are truly a great word class and pound for pound fighter this era! Stay as what you are now, be humble and approachable by your fans. Never forget to give thanks to our Lord Jesus Christ that He gave strength and for all the success that you achieved. To Ricky, you are a great fighter too, we are thankful that you are alright with that devastating left hook by the pac-man. Let the talking do in the ring....as what the pac-man said. Thank you.

without the irresponsible mayweather sr. in the picture, the fight and pre-fight moments could've been more professional to watch. but the WWF stance of mayweather sr. all the more makes pacquiao and roach's professionalism shine. hatton, as himself, is also a good fighter. just without the vile mayweather sr, though.
