Jospeh Agbeko decisions Vic Darchinyan to retain title
Jospeh Agbeko, from the Bronx, via Ghana, decisioned Vic Darchinyan on Showtime tonight to retain the IBF bantamweight title. Darchinyan was making a bid to win a third world title in a third weight class.
The fight was awkward and ugly, which can describe many Darchinyan fights, but this one lacked the sustained action and drama of a really good fight. Instead of a Budweiser logo in center ring, there was an image of Michael Jackson, a tribute from promoter Don King. Oh yeah, Agbeko entered the ring with a white, sequined glove over his left boxing glove, another nod to the pop icon.
From the vantage point of this corner, the fight may have been doomed from the start. We gathered at casa de Richie from Levittown. In the room was IBC, Bruno (who once sparred with IBC) and Frank, a descendant of Battling Sanchez.
The boxing talk was good and the food was even better. As a warm up, Richie from Levittown played the following fights -- Carlos Zarate vs. Alfonso Zamora, Salvador Sanchez vs. Wilfredo Gomez and Roberto Duran vs. Iran Barkley.
With that kind of undercard, how could the Agbeko-Darchinyan fight be any good?
It wasn't. They tried hard enough. But Darchinyan - cut over both eyes -- looked like an amateur and Agbeko was all angles and arms.
People will probably talk about the controversial knockdown and the clash of heads. But inside our room, when the 12th round ended, and Bruno asked, "Who won?"
IBC answered, "Who cares."
Perhaps the most interesting quote came from Darchinyan, who said, "He's not better than me but he was today."
The officials scores were 114-113 (twice) and 116-111, all for Agbeko. The winner improved to 27-1 and Darchinyan is now 32-2.-- CASSIDY

Vic got no boxing skills but he got trash talking skills but cannot back it up. He needs to go back to Boxing 101 training in Armenia.
Vic like i told you before the fight you talk too much ...you would not be able to handle the power king kong have ..he is too strong from 118 to 126 pound ...he is a reall king kongand you know that now...anyway good with your next fight in 115 pound you will do great there...king kong is your master and you have to pay him lot of respect...like i said iking kong is too strong 118 to 126 pound.....you got your little asss whoop so is Gary shaw he talk a lot but in the ring only was feeling that dirty pain king kong was throwing at you...good luck vic 115 you the best not 118 or even higher you wont be able to handle that dude...king all night long.......this is just the begening of king kong ...next fight will will more amezing and crazy ...KING KONG TALK THE TALK AND WALK THE WALK LIKE A REALL MEN DOES....PERIOD..

Like everyone of us knew from the beginning Vic is overrated and just a big media-hyped boxer with no skills.
He and his promoter Gary Shaw can stay in their part of the world and fight Type C boxer, we dont need them

Vic is just good at trash talking. Even he was knocked down by Donaire, he still talked crap after the bout.
