Report: Manny Pacquiao vs. Miguel Cotto set for November 14
It's the fight Bob Arum hoped for, the fight he had been preaching since Miguel Cotto beat Joshua Clottey. It looks like he's finally made it.
Manny Pacquiao (49-3-2, 27 KOs) and Miguel Cotto (34-1, 27 KOs) will square off against each other on November 14 at the MGM Grand, according to ESPN.com.
"It's done," Top Rank's Bob Arum told ESPN.com. "While I was away [on vacation] I reached a verbal agreement with each side. Pacquiao committed to the fight this weekend and Cotto the week before while I was in Israel."
The two will meet at a catch weight of 145 pounds.
Cotto is fresh off a split decision win over Joshua Clotty at Madison Square Garden on June 13. Pacquiao scored an easy knockout over Ricky Hatton on May 2 at the MGM Grand.

LET ME TELL U THAT MANNY IS DA BEST POUND 4 POUND FIGHTER OUT THERE, A PERSON WHO WILL FIGHT ANYONE, WHO NEVER BACKDOWN TO NO ONE, MAYWEATHER, I CANT BELIEVE U GUYS THINK HE DA BEST POUND 4 POUND FIGHTER, A PERSON WHO PICKS HIS OWN FIGHTS N SHOW BOUTS N RUNS AROUND DA RING, NAME 4 FIGHTERS THAT WAS A GOOD MATCH FOR HIM TO FIGHT ,THAT RIGHT U CAN NAME NO ONE, HE PICKS HIS OWN FIGHTS, FOR COTTO ITS OVER IN 5 ROUNDS HE GETS CUTS TO EASY PLUS HE NO MATCH FOR DA BEST OUND 4 POUND BOXER IN DO WORLD LEARN THAT MAYWEATHER RUN AROUND DA RING THATS ALL U DO,, U GUYS SHOULD WATCH DA MOVIE HAMMER SO U KNOW WHAR IM TALKING ABOUT THATS HOW HE WIN S HIS FIGHT
GO Manny, he will beat Cotto, no problem there. Manny is the best and now everyone knows it!!!
I DON'T SEE MANNY BEATING COTTO, BECAUSE MANNY HAS NEVER FACED A GUY LIKE COTTO. AT 145 COTTO WILL GIVE MANNY PROBLEMS IN THE LATER ROUNDS AND IF MANNY CAN'T HURT COTTO WITH HIS BEST SHOTS IT WILL BE A PROBLEM FOR MANNY. COTTO HAS GREAT TIMING AND POWER. HIS BODY SHOT ARE VERY GOOD AND I THINK ITS TO MUCH FOR MANNY TO HANDLE. MANNY HASN;T REALLY FACE A REAL WELTER WEIGHT. RICKY IS A JOKE AND OSCAR IS WAY PAST HIS PRIME. MANNY IS A GOOD SMALL FIGHTER, BUT NOT ENOUGH TO BEAT MIGUEL COTTO. COTTO HAS FOUGHT EVERY TOUGH FIGHTER OUT THERE IN HIS DIVISION AND HASN'T DUCKED ANYONE. MAYWEATHER FORGET ABOUT HIM HE WILL NEVER FIGHT THE TOP 5 WELTER WEIGHTS OUT THERE RIGHT NOW. HE WILL WAIT TILL ALL THE TOP 5 BEAT EACH OTHER UP BEFORE HE TAKES ON THESE GUYS LIKE MOSLEY, COTTO, MARGARITO, CLOTTEY, AND EVEN MANNY. MANNY DOESN'T WANNA GET IN A SLUG MATCH WITH COTTO, BECAUSE COTTO WILL HIT ALOT HARDER AND COTTO CAN TAKE A REAL HEAVY PUNCH. THE MAN TOOK BRICKS FOR 11 ROUNDS AND STILL WAS WINNING THE FIGHT BEFORE HE COULDN'T KEEP TAKING THOSE BRICKS. I GIVE COTTO KO'S MANNY IN THE 8TH ROUND HANDS DOWN!!
This gonna be a very excited fight. I'm sure most people talking about this fight.
Just want to share some updates: http://manny-pacquiao-vs-miguel-cotto.blogspot.com/
There are many boxing fans that believe that Cotto is stronger and bigger than Pacquiao. Sure, that's probably true, but these are the same exact arugments used when he fought bigger fighters like De La Hoya and Hatton. Sure, I know De La Hoya was past his prime, but come on, how can you say Ricky Hatton is a "joke" if he has a 45-2 record and was the (former) light welterweight champion?
The arugmen that "Manny has never fought [insert name here]"is not a credible argument anymore. Critics said the same thing about Hatton, and looked how that turned out.
You might want to read this article about Pacquiao vs Cotto.

Sure, I'll admit that it may be a little bias, but the facts in the article and the video still hold true.
As for the argument about Mayweather, I agree with VICTOR. Mayweather is an extremely talented fighter, but he is more concerned about making money over winning belts, he actually doesn't care if Pacquiao has the P4P boxer title. He wants to make sure he chooses fights that he can win so he can get more money. Mayweather also wants to keep his undefeated record, so he'll probably dodge Manny despite the insane amount of money that can be generated from fighting him. It will be interesting how his fight versus Marquez will result in. I hope Marquez wins that fight, I honestly don't like Mayweather's arrogance and his trash talk.
As for my prediction about Pacquiao vs Cotto, I believe whoever wins will win by TKO. These boxers aren't dancers taking turns as the lead, they will absolutely kill each other. This will be great fight!

dream fight of the two great fighters in their prime so that's why most writers believe that this will be a tough fight for pacquiao.
I think the speed, power and technique of pacman will overwhelm cotto. Cotto is a hardpuncher,if can manage pacman with his haymaker, he has a great chance of beating pacman..if he can catch pacquiao.
