Mike Schuerlein is one of the Islanders blogger friends I made while spending the NHL trade deadline in the Islanders blog box. He's one of the few people who will wear an Islanders jersey and also say good things about me (I think).
Anyway, on to far more serious matters. He just messaged me about his latest blog post, and it's a sad story - his friend's brother-in-law has an incurable blood cancer. So Mike is helping his friend's family raise money to go toward research for a cure.
Here's the link to Mike's blog post, which has all the info you'll need to help.

LOL Jim
Of course I say good things about you! Hopefully by now you know that I value a different opinion and view on things!
Thanks for the link!
Mike
Well, I can't pledge not to write about the Islanders anymore, but I will discuss the Arbour story.
I'm not going to "apologize or retract it," but I am open to discussing it. Because here's my only point: I have no problem with him being on the bench and getting his banner raised with 1,500. He deserves it. By all means. Hell, he's one of the best coaches in New York sports. No one is denying that.
My only beef with it is that why should get official credit for the victory and game coached? That's it.
And, believe me, when I wrote it, I did not envision it creating such a big uproar... Not that that changes things. Just want to make it clear I wrote what I felt, not something to get a reaction.
I agree with Jim.But the Islanders need these type's of gimmics to get fannies in the seats. If they put a winning product on the ice they wouldn't need these gimmics!Just look at Manhattan.Another big PLAYOFF WIN!!
I am confused, you think this is an Islanders gimmick?
why dont they do a poker tournament....i have a friend who does them every 3 months for his son who is 4 with diabetes....he makes around 6,000 from only a few hours of cards...if you need any info on how he sets up the event email me at rainbow716590452@aol.com
505,
I sincerely doubt Jim needs my blog to draw hits. I also wasn't confused about this post being a gimmick. It was the Rangers fan comment - but now I realized he was talking about the Al Arbour night.
I have no life. I cry constantly about Al "The Living Dead" Arbour. I want the Hummer! My team stinks. Oh well, I always have the golf channel. And I am jealous of Jim Baumbach. Why else would I be so OBSESSED with him?
I have no life. I cry constantly about the Isles. I want a Dynasty! My team stinks. Oh well, I always have the golf channel, and dreams of the last 60 years and only 2 cups, only one of the worst years/cups ratios in hockey. Why else would I be so OBSESSED with the Isles?
