For most of the 2004 regular season the trio of Paul Quantrill, Tom Gordon and Mariano Rivera made one of the back-end-bullpens in all of baseball. (Then Torre ruined Quantrill, but let's not go there.)
Anyway, I believe it was Michael Kay who came up with the nickname QuanGorMo, and it stuck. At least until Quantrill blew up in late August and September.
On that note, it's the middle of the fifth inning here at Fenway and Chien-Ming Wang is pitching another gem. If only the Yankees could score a run, we might have the third start Wang start that follows this pattern:
Wang to Joba to Mo.
WaJoMo!!!
Remember: You heard it here first.
