Ask Bob - Jerry Hairston?
From Carl Mich:
What are your thoughts on Jerry Hairston Jr.? Should he be starting or would he best-used as a supersub?
I think for this year's ballclub and the lineup coming out of spring training that Jerry Hairston's main value will be as a utility player playing a variety of positions. However, should injuries or ineffectiveness crop up, I think that Jerry Hairston is a guy that's perfectly capable of stepping in and being a starting player.

Last nights game umpire was a complete injustice to the Cubs. How that man can call himself an umpire is beyond me.
Where do Len and Bob call home?

Just to inform you boys, whenever a Cub hits a HR and you announce how far it flew...It's Happy Feet, not just say for instance 399 ft. It would be 399 Happy feet....

Hey Bob:
When a pitcher is pitching well, why do they feel they have to put the closer in for the ninth inning. It seems this happens alot and the closer blows the game. Then they complain about the bullpen. We enjoy listening to you and Len and your insight into the game.

My husband and I moved form Chicago in 1971 down to KY.(due to a shut down of Forrest Park ,Naval Ordance Station) But we still love our Cub's. So we try and watch every game we can on WGN TV. Can you say Hi to my husband Ski as we just celebrated our 51st Anv. Sincerely Wanda

Aren't the batters told by coaches when to take a pitch or two? I'm tired of watching the players swing away when the opposing pitcher isn't doing that well!

Don't ever say "can of corn" while on the air. There's no place for that b.s. at Wrigley!!!!

Hello Bob.
I am a long time Cubs fan in Lugoff, SC (LOOGOLF). People often misprounance it. I am able to watch the games on WGN when they are broadcast. I recently bought the Zambrano/Bem Sheets autographed baseballs from the Cubs Care site. You will never guess which one I am holding in my hand right now as I watch today's game. Call it a gook luck charm. Lee just doubled and the score is 2-0.

Bob:
You missed a real Brooklyn link when you mentioned the upcoming Beastie Boys concert during Thursday's game with Florida. Just after your announcement Mike Jacobs of the Marlins stepped up to the plate. He got the game-winning RBI in the first professional baseball game in Brooklyn since the Dodgers left: June 25, 2001 as a member of the Brooklyn Cyclones.
