Game Notes For Monday

* Kerry Wood (0-1, 5.84) goes against Cincinnati right-hander Adam Belisle (2005 (1-1, 3.52) in the opener of the two-game series tonight.

* Kerry Wood has 155 career strikeouts vs. the Reds---most of any hurler since 1998. Wood is 12-3 all-time vs. the Reds with a 2.74 ERA.

* The Cubs’ pitchers are hitting .310 thus far in 2005---it's currently the highest of any NL team’s pitching staff since 1974.

* Ken Griffey Jr. has had 39 plate appearances without a home run in 2005---it’s the longest beginning of the season streak for Junior since 1991 when it took him 50 PA to get his first HR of the season.

* The Cubs have won two straight and three of four to climb to .500 and just one game behind St. Louis in the NL Central.

* Derrek Lee has hit in six of his last seven games and is batting .417 (10-for-24) with nine RBI during the streak.
