Back Home At Wrigley
Looking forward to a great homestand of baseball and I know we'll have a lot of fun in the booth with our 7th inning stretch singers, including the tandem of Will Ferrell and Mike Ditka on Saturday, Jim Belushi Sunday, George Wendt Tuesday and Gary Sinise Wednesday. Honestly, it was one of the things that I was nervous about when I took this job--interviewing non-baseball celebrities. I wasn't sure if I'd be able to make them feel comfortable, but a funny thing happened during the first homestand--I realized that EVERYONE who comes into that booth to sing that song and to chat with us is in awe of the view, the atmosphere, the game, everything. They're like a kid in a candy store. So that put me at ease right off the bat.
And while certainly we'll go "off-topic" on occasion with the non-baseball celebs, for the most part, they WANT to talk about the Cubs and the game, which is awesome.
What an incredible perk for two of the luckiest people on the planet--Bob and me--to be able to welcome all those big names into the booth, and into your living room.
