Tough Days Ahead

As the Cubs open a four game series in San Diego, the month of June looks to be a stern test with series against the Padres, Blue Jays, Red Sox, Marlins, Yankees, Brewers and White Sox. Dusty Baker talked about the possibilities and the Cubs aiming to do more than just survive.

"We hope we can do better than that. We know we can rise to the occasion. I remember a road trip with the Giants and we lost Matt Williams right before we went on the trip to Philly, New York, and Montreal which was a nemesis for West Coast teams. Tough teams, tough towns, tough sleep places and noise...(Matt's fill-ins) were playing and they hit like .600 that road trip. So you just don't know. If the team's going good, you can beat anybody."
