Wednesday Update
Some brief housekeeping on Wednesday:
* Happy Birthday to Carlos Zambrano who turns 24 today.
*WGN-TV will have the Thursday and Saturday games in San Diego.
*Take that LA - the Cubs now lead the series with the Dodgers 931-930 since 1900. The White Sox now lead their series with the Angels 315-314 after last night's win over the Halos.
*The Cubs five-game winning streak is their longest of the year and comes immediately after Mark Prior's injury.
*The Cubs had a rare win last night without a home run. In May, they were 9-1 when hitting a homer and 5-12 when they did not.
*There were some posts about Nomar Garciaparra meeting the team in San Diego, but this is not to return to the roster. They will receive an update on his condition, but he will not be ready to rejoin the team until July at the earliest.

Comments
Hello Len and Bob. I am watching the Cubs and Brewers on WGN and I heard one of you comment on how we should come up with a nickname for Fontenot. I think we should call him "the sparkplug" since he provided a much needed spark since coming up from triple-A.
My second choice (and much cheesier) would be "sparky" - chosen for the same reason.
It is always great to listen to you on WGN TV. Bob, I really enjoy your baseball insight. Go Cubs!
