Take It From Me, You'll Like JP

Hey Everybody, while trying to avoid frostbite this week, I'm looking forward to having the pleasure once again to watch Juan Pierre play everyday. I had the honor of seeing JP (you'll hear my call him that on the air quite a bit in the years to come) when we were both in Florida and I have a pretty good idea of what he brings to the table.
Here's Pierre in a nutshell...he's a career .305 hitter, he's a singles machine who makes great contact and hits the ball mostly on the ground. You'll see a ton of bunt hits, infield singles and stolen bases. He won't hit for power and has a weak arm in center, but he's as durable as anyone in the game today, he doesn't strike out much and with his career .355 OBP, he brings to the Cubs a nice track record as a premium
leadoff hitter. Oh, and NOBODY outworks Juan Pierre. He's a perfect fit for the North Side with all the day games because he gets to the park earlier than anyone most days. He's an extremely dedicated athlete who rarely sat out in the stifling heat of South Florida.
Dusty can just pencil him into the lineup in the #1 every day and not worry about him.
I think Cub fans will like this acquisition quite a bit.

Well Len, we trusted you about Juan Pierre, and we found out something about Juan Pierre, he is a traitor. I hope that come September, that the Chicago Cubs fans will not forgive him about leaving the Cubs in the offseason, I hope that every time he steps to the plate in the Dodger unifrom, that he will be booed, even the first time he steps to the plate.
