Len Kasper Visits The VA

On Wednesday, Len Kasper took some time to visit with veterans at the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center in Chicago. Len made the visit on behalf of Cubs Care charities to spread a bit of holiday cheer and talk baseball with some loyal Cub fans.

It's so REFRESHING to see things like this get some play. The Cubs as an organization do an INCREDIBLE job in the community and while people like to talk about things like player's salaries, corporate profits, etc.. it's nice to see our guy Len get some PROPS for spreading some HOLIDAY CHEER!!!! A big ATTA BOY there Len.

The blog posting on Len's visit with the veterans causes me to set back and remember my uncle. John Acklin was the family member who started me on this crazy path of following the Cubs, dated back to the late 60's up until he passed away in the mid 80's.
Now, I'm pushing the Cub's on my sons and grandson or anyone else that makes the mistake to stop long enought to listen to my oponions. I can remember the first visit to Wrigley with John and the constant battles of who's who and what's what in baseball. I'm sure all our fellow blogger 's have that one person that puts them on the path of the Cubs. Hopefully, we are pointing someone in the same direction this day and age. Thanks Uncle John, you the man.

It is good to hear the ex-Cub Bobby Murcer is recovering well from his current illness.
