Second Season

A lot was made of Carlos Zambrano's pronouncement a few weeks back that he was now pitching like it was a new season, but I actually like it. He found a way to motivate and rededicate himself and you can't argue with the results.
The stuff he was throwing up there yesterday was as good as you will ever see, so let's hope he can keep that second season magic going.

On Friday you guys were talking about how great a teammate Jim Thome is and how he is highly respected by other clubs. In an AB late in the game he flew out and as he was running back to the dugout he ran right across the mound and over the rubber. Is this a normal path players take? Or maybe an attempt to "rattle" Big Z since he was untouchable yesterday?
I was just wondering if this is one of those unwritten rules of the game. Go Cubs!

Amen, BB....why do people insist on blowing every comment outta proportion? (Oh that's right, because it generates controversy, leading to higher revenues for themselves....got it.) There's nothing Z could do about the first half of the season -- so what's wrong with him leaving it behind and starting over? NOTHING. You go, Z!!
Let's hope for a repeat of yesterday's awesomeness today!!

i remember last season when hill was pitching the barrett -a.j. fight game and went on to get his butt kicked for 7 runs in a few innings then when on to say in the post game that what a.j. did was pathetic and bush and ozzie ripped hill anew one going on to say "that guy over there better shut his mouth and start throwing strikes brfore he gets baker fired".needless to say hill is a diffrent pitcher this year so hopefully he can get some redemption and we got all our big boys in today so lets go get em cubs!!
and again i cannot say enough about what big z has done in his last three starts, like they said about pujols "unknown to the awesome" is what big z is and was.

I didn't see Thome run over the mound.I never seen any player do that before. If Barret was behind the plate I bet he would have flattened him for that.Saturdays win was a beauty The second season Zam talked starts with a sweep of the Sox...........SQEEEEEEZE BUNT-OH YEAH! I LOVE IT !!!!!
SUNDAY WE SWEEP
THEN WE WIN 10 IN A ROW AND WE ARE IN 1ST PLACE
GO CUBS

I think Lou should use Angel Pagon
in the outfield. He is more versitle and a switch hitter.I think the more playing time he gets the better he will get.
Thanks

I'm glad Big Z is back on track. Better than having Jason Schmidt...too soon.

Did you see Ozzie toss the line-up back to the dugout in the interference call. Can't you assume he knew he would get him self tossed

When he ran over the mound it was a very quick camera shot. I told my GF about it when it happened but she tuned me out. This seems to be a ongoing issue in our relationship whenever I start talking about baseball! Go Cubs!!!
