Heyyyyy! The Fonz!

What a pleasure it's been to call a couple Cubs blowout wins the last
two days. Alfonso Soriano has sparked this club, going 10 for his
last 13 with 3 HRs. If you look at his rate stats, you'll notice
that his OBP and SL% are both above his career norms. He's getting
on base at a .362 clip (.327 career) while he's slugging .522, 11
points higher than his career average. Of lesser importance is his .
316 BA, which just so happens to be well above his .281 career mark.
I know he's been streaky, but that track record we often talk about
seems to be evening things out for a guy who will put up some big
numbers when it's all said and done.

how can lou pinella watch these major leaguers being paid 10-15 million a year, not run three steps out of the batters box on a pop up and a fly ball to the warning track.?

Bob and Len,
As the Cubs were rallying and had chased Vargas in the top of the eighth on Tuesday evening, the picture clearly showed Bill Hall out in Center pulling some king of lineup or scouting card from his back pocket and discussing something with RF (Jenkins?).
I have never seen position players do this before. Hall seemed to be looking in at Izturis warming up in the on deck circle and then glancing back at this card. Is this within the rules, and if so, how common is this practice?
Thanks for answering.

I'm not a big Lou Pinella fan but I still don't believe he made contact with that umpire. Please tell me what happened, if anything, to the umpire who put his hands on Lou. Doesn't seem fair.
