Cubs first baseman Derrek Lee has elected to begin serving his suspension today and will miss the rest of the homestand.

I think it is unfair for a position player and a starting pitcher to get the same suspension!! For Derek he gets 5 games he is definately eligible to play in, for the starting pitcher he misses 1 start!! The pitcher should get 20 games minimum!!

I agree with Larry that it's not fair. We lose Derrek and his defense/bat for 5 games, whereas the Padres simply moved back a Chris Young start, I believe. So while we're minus one should-have-been MVP first baseman, they don't miss a beat with Young. While I don't know if 20 games is appropriate, I'd like to see him miss at least a start.
