Happy 4th of July

Thanks for sharing your holiday with us. There's something perfect about America's Team playing on a national superstation in Washington, DC on the 4th of July.

Who would be on your Cubs 4th of July team? Some of my thoughts:

Rick Monday - anybody who saves a flag is automatically on.
Grover Cleveland Alexander - that's a presidents name for sure.
Maybe a group of Red Adams, Jerry White, and it's too bad Blue Moon Odom never played for the Cubs.

But Junior Kennedy, Karl Adams, Randy Jackson, Lance Johnson, Guy Bush, Steve Wilson, Jermaine Van Buren, and Joe Carter did. Someday soon we hope Tyler Colvin joins that group.

Give us yours.

Along the Presidential theme, voters sometimes write in Mickey Mouse. Perhaps Mickey could be the Cubs' new owner. Many would see continuity in such a move.

Ah, Rick Monday -- one of the single greatest Cubs moments ever! I hope you guys replay that today, I NEVER get sick of seeing it.

Let's keep this winning machine rolling!

VOTE FOR Z!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am a 12 yr. old boy who has been around the baseball world for a very long time. I would just like to say this is one time i can remember the Cubs over 500. HA!

GO CUBS!

I hear you guys talking about the "president races" at the Nationals' ball park, and how Roosevelt never wins...

After careful analysis, I have concluded that Teddy's mustache increases his weight and wind-resistance to a degree that it makes it impossible for him to compete.

My recommendation: Shave Teddy.

Len and Bob, doing a great job on this 4th of July. Would you wish a North Carolina girl (and crazed Cubs fan) Vivian a happy birthday. She's a history buff just like you...and is very bad at geometry!!! Thanks, her Sis and Cub fan Karen

i am coming to a cubs game for the first time from oklahoma and staying at navy pier is their transportation i can take.i have been a cubs fan my whole life

Dude!

You jacked up that Calvin Coolidge Story.

It was THREE words.

If it was just two words, then she would have won her proposition as, according to the story, he did in fact utter two words - You Lose.

Here's a link to the correct version...

Ps Go Tigers!

North Carolina girl watching you from her home in St. Paul's is a MAJOR Cubs fan...for years!!! And she's celebrating her birthday...Can you give her a shout out today over WGN...Forty something.... Name is Vivian G. Millar.

I was driving by Wrigley on Thursday night and it seemed a little awkward. All of Sheffield was closed (surrounded with chain-link fences). They also had the sidewalk along the blachers on Waveland blocked off. There were also a bunch of semi's, semi trailers, and port-a-potty's everywhere. What was going on?

why do you two guys talk like a mouse. don't you have scrips.when the cubs are losing, you bragg about the other team.are there certian words you can't say.why don't you have a baritone voice.i think brodcasting should be part of the team.get mad when they lose.like a reallity show, get some ratings.we need more stats on players.instead of buying seriono should of paid for a high qwalidy broudcasting system.

Would you guys ever consider doing an entire broadcast without all of the gibberish? Thanks to the Baseball Network I am able to listen to Vin Scully. All of his attention is focused on the action on the field. Monday night you guys talked about a mascot convention for an inning and a half. Every one of your broadcasts seems to have a least 30 minutes of nonsense. I'm sure Cub fans would appreciate just "baseball talk". Please try it for one game! Thank you

Dear, Bob Brenley,
i heard a rumour that you might get the Reds job if you do congrast i beleve that the cubs should have hired you this year instead of Lou, so dose my Grandpa, where going to see the cubs in cinn at the end of the month so if you get the job i'll see you then, GOOD LUCK.

HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY CUBBIE FANS,HOPE EBVERONE HAS A GOOD FOURTH,but i wanted to post on rich hill today, rich hill is going to have a awfull second half if he dont get together with rothschild and work on his inefective barely thrown changeup and find him another pitch to throw.he did good at the second half last year and the first 4 or 5 games here and a decent one here and there but latelty he hasnt been good, why?what i think is simple, everybody knows he can throw only two pitches,so all they goota do is set on a fastball or curve, but it seems as if hill aint getting the curve over all the time and he hardly throws that changeup he has,so all hitters need to do is wait on fastball and thats it. he has been inefective especially if you look at who he has been bad against its good fastball hitting teams.so he really needs to work on another pitch or somin with rothschild i think.

Unlike John (looks like he needs spellcheck), and Jim, I dig the side conversations. Maybe they would like for you to tell us how many 5 plus run games Rich Hill has had since grade school, or if Soriano is a candidate for osteoporosis due to his batting stance.

If they want dry broadcasts, they should try listening to Sox radio broadcasts; they are really good at saying nothing between pitches and hitters.

Keep up the good work guys, I think you make Cubs baseball more fun to watch.

Len and Bob , you guys are doing a grest job. Gibberish is one of the greatest things about a baseball game and makes it very interesting when the game isn't. Keep up the good work. Bob if you were the manager of the REDS, what's your first move?
GO CUBS

How could you forget Theodore Roosevelt Lilly?

Or even Red Schoendienst, Frank White, and Vida Blue...

Or U.L. Washington or Otis Nixon...

Bob,
If you get the REDS job once you get there tell them they should trade Ken Griffy Jr. and Adam Dunn to the Cubs for Jackque Jones and Izturis and tell them that they should pay all of dunn's and Griffry's contracts.
thanks

hey guys...i love you...i live in Oklahoma...but im from Fort wayne indiana...i have been a LIFETIME cubs fan...i subscribed to mlb.tv its pretty sweet other than i have to listen to other broadcasters sometimes....im listening to the guys on masn during the rubber game of the nats...and its so boring listening to them!!! love you guys.....

p.s. KING FONTENOT should be the nickname...

Has Josh Vitters signed with the team yet and when will he be joining rookie ball?

ok, i just left a comment but i got to do it again...i just cannot stand the way other broadcasters handle their business...anything that the cubs do the masn guys try to play it down....and try to make us look ridiculous...im tired of it...after today i have a feeling that we are gonna be only 4.5 out...other teams better take us seriously...we're coming!! and once we get it we're not giving it up!

they keep rambling off stuff that doesnt even matter!!

they were talking about how they are second in the league in not being caught stealing...well...they arent a running team!!! who cares! so they arent aggressive... lets brag about that! and i cant stand hearing them talk about how they kept us scoreless for 18 innings...looks like we are probably gonna win 3 of 4...only the fifth inning, but the nats are back to their normal spineless way of playing with their minor league type roster...

i know i sound harsh...but i just cant stand people not giving us credit where we deserve it!!!

GO EFFING CUBS!!!!

Strike Zone Question:

Can either of you guys tell me just what the strike zone is these days? In the "old days" it was rather consistant but now it seems to be the individual umpire's discretion.

It chaps my hide to see D. Lee getting strikes called on him down around the ankles.

By the way, I love hearing you guys chat about old rock bands, I don't feel so old then.

Jak

Oh, good lord. I can't believe ANYONE would come out here and COMPLAIN about how Len & Bob do the broadcast.

Have you LISTENED to other broadcasters?! I can't stand it when we're playing the Sox, and it's their broadcasters' turn to commentate. ACK!!! The pseudo-phrase, "He Gone!" is enough to make me run screaming from the room.

Len & Bob and Pat & Ron bring Chicago to Chicago Baseball. They are what I -- and MOST other people -- love about the broadcasts. They're real, and they make you feel like you're part of the team. What *true* fan wouldn't want to feel like that?!!

And the fact that they can banter back and forth with such ease shows that, #1 they've done their homework, and #2 they have a wealth of baseball knowledge and are able to talk about it like those two other guys talk about ... oh, I don't know ... what it would be like if furry animals could walk and talk like we do?

Len & Bob -- We love you guys at our house. It's always a toss up whether to listen to you or Pat and Ron ... I've been known to do both.

Len, Bob and Bob V.
You guys have been AWESOME the past two weeks. The enthusiasm and HUMOR has been great, and WE'RE WINNING!!!! Like my old man used to say.. "PEPTO ALWAYS TASTES BETTER WHEN YOU'RE WINNING". Ah... knowledge!!! And GO CUBS GO!!

I attended the friday cubs/brewers 6/29 with a group of 10 for a
bachelor party and there was a lady in the bleachers with a wgnsports
shirt on that said fan photos or something like that. How would i get a
picture that she took? she took a shot of our whole group with wrigley in
the background and i would really like to get the groom that photo. any
ideas?
