Living here in Spew Crew territory, I can tell you -- they are in a free-fall, full-out panic. It's quite fun to watch! I'll be wearing my Cubbie blue proudly all week (which is getting a lot more sneers than it used to). Even my Sux-fan husband is caught up in it -- he's wearing Bears stuff all this week to support our Cubbies....and that's saying something. :)
Welcome back, Fonz -- get us started!!
IT IS ON!!!
GO GET 'EM GUYS!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi my name is Jerry D. Palm I'm a die heart Cubs Fan. I lived in Chicago all my Life up until 7 years ago when I moved to Denver,Colorado. I'm really upset that you can show a last place team (White Sox) that are 15 to 20 games back and not show the Cubs that are in a divison race with the Brewers and Red birds. I fill like the Cubs divison race is more important then watching a last place team lose over and over again. True the White Sox won the World Series but that was 3 years ago. The Cubs have been on WGN all of my 38 years of my life and for WGN not to show the first game of an important series that could make or break the Cubs season. And what about the Cubs fans all around the world that subport the Cubs they can't watch the Cubs because you can only get WGN on cable in other cities like Denver, Denver is a Cubs town every where you go in Denver there are more Cub fans than Rockies fans Watching the Cubs divison race is more important than watching a last place team lose game after game. Thank you Jerry D. Palm

Alright... I'm NOT even joking here. WE HAVE TO WIN 2 OF 3 HERE AT LEAST. I'm tired of us being in first because the Crew of Brew have been blowing and not because WE'RE playing so well. This next homestand could be what determines what our CUBBIES are doing in OCTOBER, if anything. Let's just hope SORIANO is healthy enough to play at a high level and he adds WHATEVER seems to be missing from this LETHARGIC or OFFENSIVE OFFENSE. We can't expect our pitchers to only give up 2 runs a game each time out. It's time for the OFFENSE to start pulling their weight. And namely... that ALL WORLD first baseman of ours. And our TIRED looking third sacker. And our CORNER outfielders. WE HAVE TOO MUCH TALENT NOT TO BE WINNING THIS DIVISION BY 10 GAMES!!!

How important is this series with the Brewers? Probably the most important series in 1000 days. Think about that.

I think I will need sedation and a bottle of tums here on out in this series versus Milwaukee!
Awesome pitching by Rich Hill through seven innings, and I am glad he got the run support tonight that he usually doesnt get (he even helped his own cause by driving in Kendall!) Suppan was pitching well, but exactly what both you and bob were saying about getting to the bullpen was exactly what brought the cubbies back in this game. I know it was a difficult play, but thank you Scott Linebrink for fumbling Theriots tapper to the pitcher!
Here is to hoping that Carlos Zambrano can pitch a great game tomorrow and prove he is worth the "Big bucks" and get his 15th win....Go Cubs go! I am keeping you all in my prayers daily!

Wednesday will be Zambrano's fifth attempt to win his l5th game. He always seems to be to "pumped up" resulting in too many walks. If he settled down a bit he should be able to control his pitches better. I wonder if Rothchild has tried to get him to relax a little. This series is too important for "big Z" to fail again.

I am with Jerry D. in the above post. I lived in chicago all my live & now live in Florida . It really stinks having to "watch" the Cubbies via computer. Just not the same seeing them live on WGN. However, I will be watching via computer until WGN airs them live..... GO CUBS GO!!!!!

...another emphatic "Ditto!" about not near enough Cubbies on WGN. Chicago's home team is in first place going into September, you tune in to WGN to catch a home game against their number-one rival...and instead we're seeing funniest home videos. It's a shame that the Cubs' home station doesn't show more of its team's games. Before cable and satellite it seemed it was rare for a game NOT to be televised on Channel 9. Now, with all the modern conveniences and a zillion more channels, I have to sit at my desk to watch my team. I hate to sound whiny, but it really is a drag. I guess it's the too powerful MLB corporate money machine at work "encouraging" those subscriptions, KA-CHING KA-CHING.
Mr. Lilly's pitching tonight! woohoo! Go Cubbies Go! Let's make our number one position solid!
