Since the diamondbacks game I have read so much garbage on message boards about the cubs...From DLee not producing, to Jason Kendall not being able to get baserunners out stealing, to Monroe being a stupid acquisition since we have Murton...etc.etc.etc....Why not instead of bashing these guys (the team we are fans of?) Why dont we all say a prayer for them? That they all remain healthy, that they all hit for the fences, that they have the strength to give 100% in this grueling upcoming month, that their defense is as good as it gets, and that our pitchers continue to be strong and hit their spots with accuracy!...I bought a "We believe" bracelet last season, and when I took it off at the end of the season last year it was with another remorseful, "Well maybe next year" attitude!....Well next yeah is here!....I hope they all feed off their true fans energy and support and not listen to the negative fans. Here is to praying that we can beat milwaukee in this upcoming series and our boys ignite the month of September with lights out baseball!...Go Cubs!

Good game last night! Wooooooo-hoooooo Cubbies!
I really like this blog and am so glad I found it. I don't always post a message myself, but I enjoy coming to it after a game to read my co-fans' "takes" and comments. Even if I don't necessarily agree with every opinion, I just remember that every post in this blog--whether a praise or a gripe--comes from a fellow die-hard CUBS Fan. I learn so much from all of you. Cubs fans are knowledgeable, and come in all sorts of shapes and sizes, ages, backgrounds, and temperaments. Some of us are the cheerleaders, some are critics; we have some pray-ers, some nail biters; we have optimists and pessimists. Some are just along for the ride just to see if this is the year it finds us on the top side of a championship series (go Cubs). I think most of us are and have been ALL of the above at one time or another lol. But the one thing we all have in common is that long-suffering Cub fan love and loyalty...with maybe just a tad of frustration and anguish mixed in? ;)
I come from a family of die-hard Cub fans, and have been a fan since I was knee-high to a grasshopper. I'd sit alongside my Dad, he'd drink a beer and I'd drink my rootbeer. It's been a 40-long-year obsession. When I put on my Cubby Blues and sit down to watch a game, and when I sing along with "take me out to the ballgame", and listen to the familiar Cub-friendly voices of Len and Bob, and hear the sounds of Wrigley Field, I still feel the excitement I always did when I was that little girl. Always hopeful...ALWAYS. I guess this sounds sappy, but I'm sure you all know where I'm coming from.
Let's go Cubs! Woo-hoo!
Rose
