Vedder-an Leadership

Len and I have a rare two-day weekend off because Fox has the game today and ESPN tomorrow night. We're both pumped up about heading to Lollapalooza to hear some great music in Grant Park. Now that's summer in Chicago!
Eddie Vedder was with us in the booth yesterday and I was impressed by his passion for the Cubs. He was so focused on the game that I think he barely heard some of our questions. He is a Cubs fan through and through which is always great to see. It's true that all ballplayers want to be musicians and all musicians want to be ballplayers. Listening to his voice as he sang "Take Me Out To The Ballgame" was also a treat. He has really raised the bar there and I'm glad I don't have to follow him.
Let's hope the Cubs can rebound and win the next two against New York. I'll find a TV out there somewhere to keep an eye on things.

Hey.. I NOW see how DUSTY was able to play NEIFI all those games he SHOULD HAVE PLAYED THE RIOT.... I was wondering how a 48 year old could be an "everyday" player. Looks like NEIFI had a little help??

Let's not panic. We lost a game to a team that's 15 games over .500.Now we can see what we will be facing in the play-offs.Good teams that want to win just like the Cubs.
ITS GONNA HAPPEN ! !

I'd just like to comment on the spectacular season Ryan Theriot is having. Can any Cub fan love this guy anymore? I remember seeing him down in Omaha last year with the Iowa Cubs, and I didn't think much of him then. Each and every game this year, he's almost guaranteed to get on base and score a run, or come up with a key hit. Not only that, but he makes great back in the diamond. I'm hoping that "The Riot" gets a contract boost in the offseason. Just thought I'd throw this note in there, as I think Ryan is a great Leader. Do work! Go Cubbies

Sounded like a tough interview to me. Vetter sounded spaced out-not involved in the game.

Why do Cub batters NEVER move forward in the box against junk ball flippers like Glavine and Youman, etc.? Z showed them how to do it in the game where he got 3 hits.

Bob, teach Jason Kendall how to throw a runner out. A high school kid could do better

YA don't forget that Dusty and NEIFI were both on the Giants with you know who(Barry Big Head Bonds) and I wouldn't be surprised if NEIFI knows Juice-Rod on the Tigers.

I always thought Eddie Vedder was a White Sox fan. He hung around with Jack McDowell in the good old days. I guess they must have had a falling out... or is Eddie moving to keep up with the times?
