what is it with you two and Mr.Ron Santo. there's barbs from you two and the same goes when i listen to the radio there is barbs from ron

you know all this talk about dempster,he has the second highest save percentage behind the cards closer,go figure.everyone on this blog i think knows how i feel about dempster, great guy, great teammate and a horrible closer.which begs the question why does he have the second highest save percentage, pure luck, thats all it is,i have no idea how he has saved over 10 games with all the runners he puts on base everytime he comes in,i just hope lou dont count on him in one run lead games or 2 runs actually, and please not in the post-season.howry,marmol and even wood has looked great, anyone of them are capable of getting the job done without all the drama that dempster brings in the ninth.thats about the only gripe i have about this team right now, were hitting for power, pitching pretty good,it seems as if it is coming together at the right time...go cubbies!

Hey Leo, I know EXACTLY where you're coming from. The stats are a little skewed in regards to Ryan Dempster because we all know that he was allowing WAY too many baserunners via walks or hits, and someone would have to relieve him eventually too, BUT looks like he's gettin' it together now huh? Good for him, and good for US as a whole...the team and all of us hugging our Pepto! Ryan Dempster is getting our hope and trust back in him...I'm SO, SO glad.

demps stats look good but he has been pulled a few times when in trouble. nonetheless, we don't need to have a heart attack every time demp loads em up or gives up a run but still gets the save. I'd like a closer who goes 1,2,3 or at least 2,3 more often. (But I do agree demp is a great teammate, great guy!!)

Today's Bonehead Play of the Day award goes to the Cubs Organization. They made a couple poor trades and stuck with substandard catchers all season. And they had the PCL's MVP toiling at Iowa, right under their noses. Duh!

How about Sorry-Clownos lack of hustle today? He may have been safe at home on a soft ground ball, hit by Ramirez with the sacks jammed. Instead, he started to jog home and was out by a couple steps.

Ditto, his jog around the bases when Jim Edmonds couldn't come up with the leaping catch. He should have been standing on 3B by the time they threw it back to the IF. Instead, he jogged into 2B and just stood there and watched.

Its bad enough that you cant summom up the energy to hustle in Spring Tng and early in the season. But I question somebody's character when they dont give 100% in a play-off run. How disgraceful is that?

Meanwhile, Bob and Len made excuses for him, by saying that he 'didnt get a good jump'. Please! Wrigley Faithful, I dont think we should let this clown get away with this. Lets cheer him when he does something well...and boo him when he doesnt hustle, doesnt move runners along, and doesnt go after the ball in the OF. Maybe he'll get the message. I'd say similar things about Derrick Lee, Cliff Floyd and Ramirez, but, while scandalous, its nowhwere near as bad as Sorry-clowno. Cliff also seems to have been troubled by his achilles, and while his OF play is pitiful, he seems to be running, and hustling, a lot better.

C'mon guys, there's only a couple a weeks left in the season. Let's hustle. Who knows, maybe there's a miracle at the end of the rainbow.

Meanwhile, great job to 'bench-players' Soto, Murton and Cedeno. They really did well today...for the most part. And another great start for Marquis.

OK, OK, I get it Rose and gang now. I'll swallow my pride and say nice things about the Cubs when they deserve it...rare as that may be!

Go Cubs!! Sincerely,

Paul from Reality

I sincerely hope they give a Bonehead Award for bloggers--we all know who would win it....
GO CUBS GO!

Well..as long as hes getting the job done, i really dont care if its pure luck or not..results is what matters...28/31...thats great for me..getting the DP when it matters..!thats huge!...with Ryan we go til the end..we need some luck from time to time..maybe hes ours..GO CUBS!!!

Awesome series against Cards!!

I heard a stat by Len that said, even tho we've stranded a lot of Cubs on base, the team as a whole is still batting .333 then (or something like that), which is fantastic. The way I look at it is, it's a clear sign that our bats have awakened when we can complain about runners being stranded! lol

Hey Paul, no doubt...way to go bench players! I'm REALLY liking Soto. And Cedeno's last up, even tho he was out, he maintained his hustle. I like to see that 'off the bat', hit and RUN. And what would we have done without Murton yesterday, huh? He played well the last time he made an appearance as well.

Go Cubs!

HA!!!! Kudos to Bonnie O!!!!
