It's A Beautiful Day For A Ballgame, For A Ballgame Today

Just a few thoughts leading into yet another critical game vs. the
Pirates. 1) The Cubs are going to set a new single-season home
attendance record today. The entire organization deserves a ton of
credit for working extremely hard on and off the field, making this
one of the most memorable Cubs seasons in recent memory and for
putting fans in just about every seat for every game, including all
the weekday matinees. From top to bottom, it's a fantastic group and
I'm very proud to work with them so closely every single day during
the baseball season. 2) The Cubs just announced the winner of the
Ulitmate 7th Inning Stretch Contest and he will lead the crowd from
our booth. We're looking forward to meeting the winner, Dustin
Egleseder, from Guttenberg, IA. 3) There isn't a cloud to be found
on the North Side today. It's cool with the wind blowing in. The
pitchers will appreciate that. And most importantly, the Cubs begin
the day 1.5 up on Milwaukee.

Comments
The "Ultimate" 7th INNING Stretch winner wouldn't happen to be related to SHARON PANOZZO
would he???? Judging by the "finalists", I'm guessing this "contest" was fixed from day one.

when did they change the rule that baserunners have to wear there batting helmet instead of their ballcap. I remember they would keep theit cap in their back pocket and switch when they got on base. why did they change the rule?

GO CUBBIES!!!!
Sweet Lou needs to ditch Kendall and keep Soto. Isn't offense the reason Cubs traded Barrett? Seems to me Soto is the man.

What's the deal for next Saturday's game in Cincinnati? WGN was supposed to carry it at 6 p.m. but now that Fox has moved it to 2:55, the Cubs.com schedule has it being shown on both WGN and Fox. Will we be able to watch our announcers across the country?!
And lastly, can anything be done about moving the Cubs-Reds game on 9/30 to WGN? :)

Let's Go!
Batter Up!
We're taking the afternoon off!
Wow, now there's a blast from the past ... it's been awhile since I've heard that tune. :) I think the broadcasts always began with that song when I was kid, especially in the Jack Brickhouse days. And there was also "Hey, hey, holy mackerel..." Fun memories.
And speaking of memories ... yes, it HAS been a memorable season (with more to come) and I know my family and I are not alone when we say we appreciate all the effort put out by all those involved within the Cubs organization ... from the people who work so hard to keeping Wrigley Field beautiful to the office workers to the technical people -- we appreciate you all. And thank YOU, Len and Bob, for this opportunity to express our thanks. We really do have the best announcers in baseball... you inform us, humor us, and you have lots of CLASS! Thank you both.

GREAT job, Len and Bob, on yesterday's Seventh Inning Stretch. Very touching. The kid was treated with the same hospitality as any celebrity that you have hosted. I attended my first Cub game (at age 3) in 1953 and my fifty year anniversary game in 2003. The feeling has been there before. I think we are going all the way...MIGHT BE...COULD BE...HEY! HEY!
