Excellent thought for the day.
Go Cubs!

if it waqsnt for dumpster and all his ninth inning drama everytime he comes in to save a game we wouldnt have to take a deep breath,WHY IN THE WORLD IS LOU GOING WITHDEMP.,he has proven time after time, again and again that he will give up hits and walks in the ninth,he does it everytime he gets the save or not,had ward not hit that 3 run double the cards woulda won lastnights game, this year there have been other scenerio's like that too,lou can not count on demp with a one run lead therfor he SHOULD NOT BE THE CLOSER,IM TIRED OF THIS!!

SWEET BABY LOU SAID HE ALWAYS GOES WITH THE HOT HAND.AS FOR THE 9TH INNING TO CLOSE - SWEET LOU MARMOL-MAR0L-MAROL THATS YOUR ONLY CARD/

Yes, Bob, we need to take a deep breath, enjoy the games and stop listening to the naysayers. GO CUBS GO!

All together now....

*breathe in.....

*breathe out.....

*deep breath in....

*deep breath out....

Now kneel down in front of the Cubs shrine on top of your TV (what? -- I can't be the only one who has one!?!), and repeat after me (continuing to breath)....

"My Cubbies are wise, my Cubbies are good....this is the year....all hail to the great and powerful baseball gods and our spiritual leader, The Great Harry Caray....hear us, Harry....oh Great One, hear our call...."

Oh screw that -- stand up and shout!!!!!!!!!!!!

GO CUBS GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(now hand me that gallon of Pepto I got from Lenny C's dealer which now has a permanent place next to my chair....)

Yes, Bob, I took a deep breath last night -- after holding it for awhile in the ninth!! What an exciting year. Sure would like to sweep this series.

Hi Bob,
Last nights game against the Cardinals was a heart stopper. After we won we turned to watch the end of the Milwaukee game, that was scary to watch being a cub fan. You and Len are the best announcers in baseball. Bob I hear you might coach next year. If you leave the broadcasting position you will truly be missed. I have learned so much from you about baseball. Best of luck to you, but I sure hope you'll be in the booth next year.

I think i can believe that this team can stick together beacuse they have 15 games left before the playoffs start in october. but we need marmol in the game beacuse he throws that nasty fast ball that freezes everybody. zambrano was excellent last night kept his composer and his emotions to himself so he did'nt even break the bat which is good for the zambrano lets hope he does the same thing with the pirates. go go cubs

Bob you hit it right on the head! What is important now for all of us Cub fans is the obvious: DO NOT LOSE FAITH!

As tough as it's been lately, Lou has to go with guys that brought him. That includes Dempster. If you move Marmol or Howry into the closer's spot, you juggle what has been one of the finest relief trios in baseball.

Let's just hope we have enough nail left on our fingers to last the season.

I like Len's idea of you doing a thought of the day for the rest of the season. Keep it up!

Hello everyone,

I think that Mr. Brenly makes a great point here. This will definitely not be easy! What the Cubs have to do is win their games and allow everything else to take care of itself. There is only one thing they can control here, and that's themselves. They just need to play good baseball, and that means execute, day in and day out. Also, people need to give Dempster a break! The guy has been nothing but superb! Coming in in a non save situation does not create the same intensity as coming in in the 9th when you're ahead by just a run. Ryan Dempster, like all of us is human and is going to have days when he doesn't have his best stuff. But he has to go out there and get his work in so that he is ready when save situations do arise. It is important that Lou Pinella continue to show his confidence in Dempster if he wants him to be there as needed. I however did like the fact that last night Lou went and got Dempster in favor of Howry because it shows that lou is willing to do WHATEVER it takes to win baseball games. And at the end of the day, the only thing that matters is the final score. GO CUBBIES!! Here's to a 2nd win today!

I'm with you Bob. Some games may be down-ers, but others are just as equally exciting. I know it's not easy for diehard fans when the team is swinging back and forth between wining and losing streaks. But it's gotta be much worse for the players than for the fans. Part of being a true fan is that even with the downs you keep coming back for every game and every out. Each time I leave work, tired or stressed out, I immediately remember "hey, the Cubs are on tonight!" and I turn on WGN radio and prep for a night of both frustration and excitement. A nice treat after a long day at the office.
I think we have one of the best group of guys in a long time, I especially like how the defense has come together. There's so much going for this team, I'm tired of listening to comments from naysayers. So those to all those with stomach aches out there, obviously you must be eating something nasty that's giving you all those ulcers and bad moods. Change your diet and maybe you won't have such a negative outlook on life and this team.

" Boog Alou " The 4th Alou brother.Ohmygod,,,I WISH I had heard that live. Good one Bob. Now be honest. Was that a line you heard in the dugout or the bullpen during your playing career?

We LOVE the cubs and we love YOU doing the games Bob!
