Game Notes For Sunday @ Surprise

*The Cubs split their games yesterday and stand at 4-7 so far in spring training.
*Ryan Dempster makes his case for a spot in the rotation today. Dempster has started 2 games this spring, with a total of 5 innings pitched while allowing 4 hits and 2 runs.
*Alex Cintron continues his busy spring with a start at third base today. He's played in every Cubs game this spring and is tied for the team lead with 5 RBI.
*The Cubs are hitting .296 as a team this spring which ranks 4th among National League clubs.

hey Bob whata game today! 13-1 just love them cubbies!

He Len and Bob--great to hear you guys again on the weekend telecasts. One comment by Bob caught my attention. On Sat. Bob said that Felix Pie made a "loopy" throw to the infield and that Cubs coaches are trying to get him to hit a cutoff man. My goodness!!! Isn't this a sad commmentary on the horrible state of the Cubs minor league system. I believe Pie is 25 years old, and by now he must have made hundreds and hundreds of throw s from the outfield. Either his baseball IQ is terrible, or his minor league coaches are incompetent. High school players know how to hit the cutoff man. Anyway, I have been a Cubs fan for 62 years, and sadly I am convinced I will not live long enough to see a World Series, let alone a World Series championship. I hope the new ownership will start with the basics----scouting and minor league excellence. A good role model would be the Atlanta Braves. I live in a Braves minor league city, and it is a pleasure to watch the Baby Braves--Furcal, LaRoche, Francoure, etc.
