What A Surprise!

Len and I are working on our stamina by doing back-to-back games on WGN this weekend and with a few more games, we should be all set for the regular season.
Today we are doing the game from the beautiful new ballpark in Surprise. The facility is shared by the Rangers and the Royals and it really is a treat to see.
I'm anxious to watch how Ryan Dempster does today. He's been a man on a mission so far this spring and hopefully he'll have another strong start today.

It has been a joy watching this weekend. Looking forward to sitting on the lawn next weekend and leaving this crummy weather in the dust.

Welcome back to W.G.N. t.v. I always enjoy watching the game and listening to you make your comments, play-by-plays. You mentioned today, that Comcast will be showing all Cubs home games this season. Does this mean W.G.N. will only cover the away games? I don't receive Comcast as I live here in Phoenix and don't get Comcast. So, I won't get too many games this season? I don't think this is fair. Also, you have a poll that you asked today about yesterday's game. I don't have the cell phone you mentioned, nor can I afford text messaging. So, I'm out of luck again as far as your polls. I don't want to move to Chicago, I perfer AZ. Either way, as a fan, I am not happy. You have no control over the t.v. schedules, I know. Still, I will watch the games when I can.

Hey BB -- it was SO great seeing you and Len this weekend, it makes me feel like this LONG PAINFUL winter may actually be ending soon. The Cubbies are looking good, I LOVE to see such strong pitching performances. And how about those bats yesterday?? -- let's keep it up!
20 days and 23 hours until it kicks off for real! WOO HOOO!!

Bob, I heard your comment on Saturday about Soriano dragging his bad leg behind him on his way to first, just like last year. Sounds like this injury is going to linger with Soriano for some time to come. Not a good way to start off the season at all.

Good article on the outlook for the club in 2008. Breaks down the lineup, rotation and bullpen. Even throws in some prospects in the system to keep and eye on, and a reader poll on the Cubs expected win total.

Hey BB -- With the way Lou is worried about Soriano's leg, don't you think the Cubs should make a push to get Brian Roberts? Roberts could take the lead off spot and Fuku would be a perfect fit for the 2 hole. Soriano in the 5th spot in the lineup might seem low, but his 25+ home runs would be much more useful there. He also wouldn't have to rely on his speed game as much.

Len & Bob,
Thanks for taking a moment to pose for a picture and autograph my spring training cap right after the Cubs beat KC! I'm not a kid, so you didn't have to, but I really appreciate it. It'll go on prominent display next to my Santo/Hughes from last year!
