Game Notes For Friday @ DCs

* This is the first meeting of the year between these clubs. The Cubs went 6-1 against the Nationals in 2007. * Chicago has won nine of its last 11 games, outscoring its opponents 82-43 in these 11 contests. * The Nationals have won two of their last three contests. They had lost 15 of their previous 17 games. * Ryan Dempster has returned to the starting rotation after spending the majority of the last four seasons in the bullpen. He is the only pitcher in the majors who has made at least three starts in 2008 yet to give up a two-out hit (0-for-23). * Ryan Theriot went 0-for-4 on Thursday, snapping his eight-game hitting streak. Still, he is batting .415 with nine runs scored in his last nine games. * Nick Johnson is 0-for-16 with one run and one run batted in over his last five games. * Odalis Perez has a 1.69 run support average so far this season, which is second-lowest in the majors (min. 1.0 IP/team game)

My mantra is always the same... WIN SERIES, and the rest will take care of itself. I don't expect 10 game winning streaks every month, just WIN SERIES. And starting tonight with game one against the NATS is all that matters.

Cubs have given the last 2 games away with their usual garbage...errors, bad base running, can't score with bases loaded multiple times and can't beat the WORST team in baseball...that's pathetic no matter how you want to spin it....period.
