Power To Our People

It sure is a good day to look at the team statistics in the National League right now. The Cubs are first in batting average, hits, on-base %, and doubles - I guess back to back 13 run games will do that for you. There are two other categories where the Cubs are 2nd that are even more telling - walks and runs. It's great we're scoring and this team is continuing to show more patience at the plate than we've seen in the past. The results are 12-6.

It's been great. Now when Soriano comes back will he do what is best for the team and stay out of the leadoff spot. Quit wasting the homeruns with nobody on base. He's only guaranteed to be the leadoff hitter once per game anyhow. So slide down to the middle of he line-up. Let Johnson handle leadoff or even Pie. Pie has been killed batting 8th having the pitcher behind him. No wonder the guy has struggled. Have him lead off and someone strong behind him to protect him. THEN watch this offense fly!! Pie and The Riot could be the new Daily Double!!!

B.B.... what's your take on a baseball club's ability to MAINTAIN things like PATIENCE through 162?
It seems like our CUBBIES have finally found the right approach at the plate and it has paid off early on. My question.. can we keep it up all season???

I'm sending Brenneman a nice fruit basket. Judging by the results, we should hire him to throw a tirade regularly.
First place Cubs, just as it should be.

Why in the world is Matt Murton down in Iowa? This man will be something special in the future. Great attitude, great bat, great fielding! If he only played a few positions, not just left field. Dusty seen his potential and he helped us out alot last year. Give the man a chance and you won't be disappointed. He's hungry and play's like a kid who loves the game, not the money.(hard to find nowdays).Tho a few buck's never hurt anyone. Would like to see him stay up and watch him shine! Just like the Cubs in 69! Still hate the Mets for that year!
OK 100yrs. Have been around for more than half of em'. Now it's time for the greatest team in baseball to unite into the champions that they really are! God only knows Wrigley is a piece of heaven on earth. The fans are the best in baseball!! Where else do you see any other fans throw back the opposing teams home runs? Only in Chicago!
I hope they never get the idea that we need a new park. Wrigley is the best field in the country, just look at the rooftops across the street, ever seen that anywhere else! Best fans in the country.
Lou P. will be a deciding factor in this season if they can only keep him from going off the wall. Love his enthusiam but try to stay in the game.
Waiting for the game to come on today, got lot's of cold beer and a smile on my face!
Old fart in Fl.
