Russell "The Kid" Martin??

I was recently asked which current player reminds me most of myself.
Right now, I'd say Russell Martin of the Los Angeles Dodgers. He is a catcher and probably a better athlete than me. He does play some others positions and I played some catcher and outfield. I am just really impressed with his overall play and I see some of me in him.

Gary you played the OF?? Actually the funny thing is the best play I ever saw you make wasn't as a catcher it was as a 3B in Cincinnatti when Ray Knight got thrown out.
That was one of my favorite Met games of all time. Same with 24 years ago tonight with the Rick Camp game. I remember being 15, coming in at midnight and seeing the game still on. I stayed up with my sister (who was 18 and drunk shhhhh) and watching the rest of the game. She fell asleep at around 2. My Dad woke up and we watched the end. He's gone now but it was a great memory.
