Good news, Lance: Travis Henry wins appeal

Broncos running back Travis Henry, who was facing the possibility of a one-year suspension for a positive marijuana test, has won his appeal.

The team just announced it on their website.

Congratulations, Lance. Now the Broncos can find new ways to break your heart the last month of the season.

Jackass idle speculation at the NYTimes:

Devious my ass. If I am Coughlin, and someone accuses me of going Pete Rose, I am shedding blood.

Honestly, Craig, I don't think this one is even worth responding to for Coughlin, other than to laugh, shake my head and say, "Next question."

It's absurd.

We were talking in the press box about it, and Staple and I agreed that you don't not score touchdowns. It's just stupid. You want to dilly-dally by taking a knee and then risk NOT getting into the endzone? Sorry. Score the touchdown and deal with the time issue.

And to take the leap that it's somehow related to a point spread ... please.

I'm suprised by the commissioner's decision, although not complaining. Henry basically got off on a technicality.
Did you see the NFL's statement? It basically said Henry's lie detector test and hair sample had nothing to do with the commissioner's decision. The NFL is clearly trying to make this an individual case and stay away from any precedent setting conclusions. I wonder if the NFL is going to examine how it administers the drug tests more carefully now. This story could have legs.
Hey, I'm happy Henry's back, but I wonder for how long. He has a proven track record of this kind of stuff and bet he'll be back in trouble before too long. That being said he's a much better running back than Selvin Young or Andre Hall, no matter how well they played in his stead.
