Marvin Lewis: Chad Johnson isn't going anywhere
First, we'd like to thank Bengals coach Marvin Lewis for not immediately reacting to the Washington Post story the other day that indicated the Redskins were interested in trading for disgruntled Bengals wide receiver Chad Johnson.
By delaying his reaction, Lewis enabled us to record an astounding number of comments on a previous post in which we sarcastically suggested that Johnson would be the missing piece for the Redskins and propel them to an unbeaten season. All this on a slow news day in the off-season.
In any event, Lewis finally did respond to the story, and said in no uncertain terms that Johnson is not on the block.
That certainly means the plot thickens, because Johnson desperately wants to get out of Cincy, where he feels unappreciated.
In the meantime, thanks again, Marvin.

Bob, did you ever track down the site that linked you? One of Best's blogroll linked you, could have been The Big Lead. That's is how you can destroy your page view competitors. Any link, positive or negative on a site like that, or better yet Deadspin, and you ring the register. Downside is the page gets devoured by ravenous partisans, more often than not a price worth paying.
Never did track it down, although I should ask someone in the office. I try not to get obsessed with stuff like that, just want to write pertinent stuff and let the chips fall where they may.
Best is far more obsessed with page views; I take the long view. If I put in an honest effort, it will all work out in the end.
btw, thanks for your "bodyguard" work on previous Johnson post. Well done. I thought I'd made it abundantly clear I was kidding, but these are passionate NFL fans we're talking about!
