Shockey will sit out preseason opener

The former Giants tight end, who has practiced on a somewhat limited basis since being dealt to New Orleans, won't play in Thursday's preseason opener against the Cardinals. It's being called precautionary, although it remains to be seen when Shockey will resume a full load.

The team will also sit running back Deuce McAllister, who is trying to come back from two knee surgeries.

(I assume having Shockey in a headline will prompt "Craig" to post a comment ripping said tight end. Fire away, my friend.)

Hope the Saints don't win that first preseason game, Shockey might demand a trade. They better send a limo for him, at the 5 star hotel they put him up, and have a throne on the sidelines for him to sit in.

Smart move, following the Strahan model. With an experienced QB I do not think he needs the reps. He is always hurt, why get extra snaps in games that do not count? Trade should have been done before the draft, this is a perfect fit for him. And, as always, it was all about him. He'll have a big year, get a new contract, and finally have time to focus on those mother/daughter threesomes he desires.

Craig:

I can always count on you.
