Combine player says Giants are annoying
Very interesting read from Oregon State offensive lineman Andy Levitre about his experience at the NFL Scouting Combine, courtesy of The Oregonian via BigBlueInteractive.com.
From his Day 3 diary installment:
"The [psychological] tests are basically to find out what kind of person you are on the inside and make sure you aren't crazy or going to cause trouble.
"The one test that got on my nerves a little was the test given by the New York Giants which consisted of 260, yes that is TWO HUNDRED AND SIXTY questions plus another packet of 70 short answer questions after you finished that."
Wow. A whopping 330 questions ... and just from one team. Yup. That'll get on your nerves a little.

The one thing I cant critize the Giants for is their scouting, its one of the best.
Jerry Reese is batting a 1000, we can all speculate what the Giants are going to do in the FA/draft, but at the end of the day I fully trust that Reese will make the right move.
Just look at the Radiers, paid way too much for Wilson, and they wind up cutting him. They say it all starts up front (referring to the O-Line) but really its starts with the scouting and player personal, etc.. which is the real "up front"
Even after all that, I would say that would get on my nevers too, specially since there are 31 other teams. But the Giants are doing something right
Here's a tissue, Levitre. Stop whining. We all feel very sorry that you have to answer 330 questions before becoming a millionaire.

They do all this testing to make sure guys aren't nuts or will cause trouble. Yet, they have murderers playing/have played in the league. Michael Vick, T.O., Randy Moss, Plaxico, Tank Johnson, PacMan Jones etc. etc. so what's the point of testing for psychological problems?

How many murders have the Giants drafted, Sandy? The key is question 174: Are you a murderer? Reese does not tap those responding affirmatively.
By they way, I do not see any killers on your list. You might want to add the Juice and Carruth for balance.
Ray Lewis too, although he got away with it Craig. Generally, the Giants may have 330 but all teams do a test to some extent. Yet these guys I listed still get to play.
