Crabtree on running before surgery: hold that thought

Texas Tech wide receiver Michael Crabtree was found to have a stress fracture in his left foot during medical exams at the Scouting Combine.

He said he'd run anyway at the team's pro day, set for March 26.

Now he's having second thoughts, saying he might re-think the idea.

Smart thinking, young man.

Get the injury taken care of, and run when you're healthy. Even if it's after the draft. And even if our man La Monica said it was a gutsy move to run.
Of course, that might mean Crabtree could slip a few spots - and thus lose a pile of money - but it also means that he won't risk further injury and, worse yet, a poor time that could cause him to drop even further.

(As Mantz points out, Crabtree also appears to be the incredible shrinking receiver. He's listed at 6-3 in the team's media guide, but checked in at 6-1 at the Combine. Oy.)
