"Sanantonio" Holmes did more than just win the game
He saved the rest of us from having to debate the issue of overtime procedure in the NFL.
Had Holmes not made one of the most spectacular catches in NFL history, the game would likely have gone into overtime. And if the team that won the coin toss went down the field and kicked the winning field goal on its first possession, we'd be debating the issue plenty.
LTmeansLawrenceTaylor would like to debate it anyway, so we'll give him the floor:
Suggestion 1) How about making it first team to score atleast 6 points, instead of sudden death?
OR
Suggestion 2) How about Field Goal doesn't end things. The scored upon team gets a possession. If they fail to score, they lose; if they score a TD, they win; if they get a FG, game continues.
I think either method makes things more fair, adds more strategy, and makes OT more exciting.
What do you think? Wanna ask your readers if anyone else has ideas?

Suggestion 1: Make it four points. FG+Safety, 2FGs, TD, two safeties.
Suggestion 2: Both teams get one possession, then sudden death.
Suggestion 3: Move the kickoff line up for over time.

Yes, LTmLT, this is the start of the off-season. But I will tell you that after writing every single day except one since late July until now, it wouldn't be a terrible idea to ... uh ... ya know ... regenerate some brain cells.
As for the OT, I like the rule the way it is. I just don't like changing the game in any fundamental way in overtime. I could live with moving the kickoff back 5 yards.
Part of the deal is that field goal accuracy is at an all-time high, and I think that factors in.
I don't like the idea of one possession each. (I personally hate the college system. Then again, I'm not big on the shootout in hockey, either.)
