Jags' Jones in trouble again
Jacksonville receiver Matt Jones was arrested on Monday in Fayetteville, Ark., for violating the terms of his plea agreement stemming from a felony cocaine arrest in July 2008.
Jones was given a random alcohol test on Feb. 27 and he tested positive (he admitted to drinking beer while golfing with buddies, which violated his drug treatment program).
Said deputy prosecuting attorney Lisa Dennis to the Florida Times-Union: “He came to court and was upfront with Judge Gunn ... But the judge wanted to emphasize that even having a beer is against the rules. It’s not a terrible infraction, but he broke a rule.”
Jones was suspended the final three weeks of the season for violating the league's substance-abuse policy. Had he not been, Jones likely would have finished pretty close to 1,000 receiving yards (he had 761 in 12 games — the highest total of his four-year career).
The Jaguars have not released a statement, and messages to coach Jack Del Rio were unanswered.

Judge Gunn. Nice.
I'm an avid Giants fan, but I like the Jaguars in the AFC. Following this team has become downright depressing over the last few years. They have a great QB with no receivers. The offensive line fell apart in 2008. Jones and Peterson were headaches all last season. There's a lot of talent on this team, but they need to pull it together. They desperately need help at receiver. Jones was a failed experiment that keeps smacking them in the face.

I agree, Randy. That's why I said they should have gone after T.O. — but like many others, they weren't interested.
