The Fridge in serious condition
William "Refrigerator" Perry, who scored a famous touchdown in Super Bowl XX (see below), is in serious condition in a South Carolina hospital due to symptoms flaring up from Guillain-Barre syndrome — a disease in which the body's immune system attacks nerves in the extremities causing severe weakness and numbness — which he was diagnosed with last June.
Perry, 46, is expected to make a full recovery. However, there is no cure for Guillain Barre and it could come back at any time.
Said Parnell Perry, the Fridge's nephew: "They were making sure he was in pretty good health before they started treating him."
