Driver skips Packers' OTAs

Speaking of guys unhappy with their current contracts, three-time Pro Bowler Donald Driver (that's him with the ball between his legs) skipped the Packers' OTA yesterday, and sources told Jason Wilde of the Wisconsin State Journal it was because Driver would like his contract reworked.
The 34-year old, coming off his fifth straight 1,000-yard season, has two years left on his current deal — he has a base salary of $3.9 million this year, and $4 million in 2010. He is also scheduled to receive roster bonuses of $2 million this year and $2.9 million next year.
This is the fourth straight year Driver has asked the team to renegotiate. The Packers added two years to his deal before the '06 season, and another $10 million (mostly in the form of an extra year plus roster bonuses) before '07.
But Driver, who has missed just two games in the last seven seasons, seems to be slowing down (his 74 catches and 1,012 yards last season were his lowest totals since 2003) and the cheaper Greg Jennings (the 25-year old will make $535,000 in 2009) appears to be Green Bay's No. 1 receiver of the future.
Said one NFL source to Wildes about Driver's position: “I don’t know what he’s doing. It makes no sense.”
This is what Driver had to say about his contract situation to a Milwaukee TV station last week: "Oh, I'm happy. ... They always say when you get later in your career you go out there and do your best and hopefully you'll get what you deserve."
But what Driver thinks he deserves and what Green Bay is willing to give him appear to be two very different amounts.
