As former UTEP center Robby Felix embarks on his NFL career just months after suffering a stroke, Patriots linebacker Tedy Bruschi is winding down his days as a professional after recovering from a stroke in 2005.
How much longer does the 35-year-old Bruschi envision himself playing?
"I don't have a timetable," he told me in a recent interview, "but I know when it's time to hang it up, due to me getting older. It won’t have anything to do with my stoke or anything I went through in the past. I’m going into my 14th year as an NFL linebacker. That’s a lot of tackles and your body starts to talk to you. It’ll be because it’s time to move on. Hopefully it will be because I make the decision, and thank goodness it wasn't a stroke that took it away from me."
