Landshark Stadium opens with a bang
You really thought Jimmy Buffet would open a new stadium with a ribbon-cutting ceremony? No way.
At a special press conference to announce that Dolphin Stadium would now be referred to as Landshark Stadium on Friday, (Buffet's Margaritaville enterprise produces Landshark Lager in conjunction with Anheuser-Busch) Buffet played a three-song set for the gathered guests.
Said Dolphins owner Stephen Ross to BizBash Florida: “Jimmy Buffet is known and loved worldwide for his music and his portrayal of the tropical lifestyle that is synonymous with South Florida, and we are honored to have him bring his unique culture to our organization."
The Marlins will play at the 'Shark Tank' all summer, but the first football game will be a Dolphins' preseason game on August 22 against Carolina (their regular-season home opener is a Monday nighter, Week 2 against the Colts).
