Roderick Boone will be the new Jets' beat writer

Please join me in congratulating Roderick Boone on getting the gig as Newsday's Jets beat writer.

Rod has covered many sports at Newsday and, before that, at the Journal News in Westchester, and he will no doubt do a fine job in covering the Jets. Rod knows and loves football, having worked many Jets and Giants games along the way, and is anxious to get going on his new assignment.

He also knows that Erik Boland enjoyed a very loyal following, and he'll do his part to make sure that readers get the latest news and insight into all things Jets. EBola himself is a big fan of Rod, and I'm sure he'll give his endorsement.

Rod will be spending tomorrow covering the Mets and will dive into the Jets' action with his first blog post on Wednesday.

Welcome aboard, sir.

Welcome aboard to the toughest job in NY! You'll do great. Bob

No offense to Boone....he does great work.

But from two time zones away I was looking forward to a Strang or comparable sighting.

If for no other reason(s) than....
A/She has a bigger crush on Favre than Glauber does.
B/She's better looking than Boone....and if Newsday wants to survive they need to do more than merely subscribe to www.TitleIX.gov
C/She's spunky
D/Look at what meanbarb has done for TFS in one month. (Who's baumbach?)

But Boone it is...Jet's fans will be well served.

So when is Newsday gonna have a female sports blog, hosted by a female writer?
Isn't this the same newspaper that ascribes to the Democratic Party's Rainbow coalition concept?
As constantly praised by the tired and weary anglo males who write editorials in support of do what we say? (The Spin Zone kinda puts a new meaning on the term "dead presidents").

What's wrong with a blog loaded with snaps of Patrick, May, Sharapova and Williams?
Written by a scribe who has a lower palette more visible than Glauber's current photo?

Lemme guess Bob.....there are no trees remaining in your backyard?
