What about Bob?

Saints quarterback Drew Brees didn't hand the ball off much last season — New Orleans attempted a league-high 636 passes and rushed the ball just 398 times (26th in the league).

But this season the Saints are trying to revive their lackluster rushing attack behind third-year pro Pierre Thomas (pictured, left), an undrafted back out of Illinois, with Reggie Bush (pictured, right), the fourth-year man who was highly touted out of USC and now dates Kim Kardashian, as his understudy.

Said Brees to WWL radio in New Orleans: "I think that Pierre is our No. 1 back and can do that job. I feel like Reggie can be able to step in and do a great job ... but certainly I think Pierre Thomas is the total package."

Thomas became everyone's favorite mid-season fantasy pickup last year, as he rushed for at least 87 yards in five of six games in Weeks 11-16. He finished the year with 625 rushing yards and nine rushing TDs, and 284 receiving yards and three receiving TDs.

Jeff Duncan of the New Orleans Times-Picayune thinks that "if Thomas is the No. 1 back, then Bush is the No. 1A."

Last year Bush caught 52 balls for 440 yards in only 10 games. But he rushed for just 404 yards on 106 carries, and has never averaged more than 3.8 yards per carry in his career. Bush is capable of electrifying plays, but he also has more than his fair share of plays thrown for a loss.

The Saints hope the backs can coexist (as Duncan pointed out they did in a Week 14 win over Atlanta) to give their offense a multifaceted attack.

Just goes to show that it doesn't matter how big you are, or where you played college ball, or where you were drafted ... it just matters how much you produce in the NFL.
