Mostly because there isn't much news... Which clearly frustrates those of you who take the time to write in, but I'd say you should settle in for a lengthier FA period than you might have planned for.
WR Kevin Curtis headed down the Turnpike to the Eagles after wrapping his visit with the Giants today. He can't negotiate until Saturday, when his new agent is officially employed.
LB Donnie Edwards is on the Giants' radar, but they are not on his... A person close to Edwards told me that the Giants won't be able to afford the soon-to-be 34-year-old who has played for the Chiefs and Chargers; he's going to draw lots of interest and likely look for the best short-term situation he can. That ain't the Giants.
That's all for now... And for those who think the Ravens didn't give up a lot for Willis McGahee -- three picks and then a big pile of cash -- think again. It's a lot for a guy who's had an iffy career.

I will be thrilled if Curtis was to come back with his agent but sadly it isn't happening, he is looking to be a starter now not in 2 years, which is the best we can offer him.

What have you been hearing about Marshall Faulk? It seems that he would be a great 1 year fit for the Giants to compliment Jacobs....Is he even on our radar?
I agree too much was given up for McGahee ... Giants need to collect picks, not give them away. Which is why Dominick Rhodes seems a perfect fit ... talented, fast, proven abilities, and he's willing to be in a shared backfield situation. Can we get a deal with him please!
Too bad Rhodes just signed with the Raiders. Someone wake up the front office - they have slipped into a deep coma.
Wow! I just heard the Giants got Rueben Droughns and I almost crashed my car! What a GREAT pick-up! I can't wait to watch the Giants play in the Grey Cup this year. And I thought they were cheap! Fantastic Sloppy Seconds! Can't wait to see the Giants run a sweep!

OK geniuses, relax. You're all begging the Giants to spend their money. But on what? 80 million for a non-shut down corner? Big Bucks for a 3-4 linebacker in a 4-3 system? Ron Hood? Dominic Rhodes? Leonard Davis is probably going to play Guard for the Cowboys. This Free Agent group has not been great so to overpay for someone you will complain about later is a waste of money. There is still more time to pick up good free agents at a good price so when there is someone available we must go after, we can. We still have the draft. And I personally like this team better when everyone thinks they will suck, they play better.
Also, on Rueben Droughns. We got a 1000 yd rusher for TIM CARTER. The automatic incompletion, who was going to be cut. And Rueben is our backup. It was a smart move. He was just as effective as Rhodes at a cheaper price.
Looks like we have a do nothing GM except to release people. Nothing has been done to help the defensive secondary, the linebacking, replacing Luke or a runner to complement jacobs.
Lord help the Giants this coming season!!

What is Jerry Reese doing anyway? This Reese belongs in a cup not as a GM of the Giants. They've got linbacker, secondary and a left tackle void. Oh, and let's not forget that he let K Jay Feeley go. I'd love to here him explain his game plan to us fans about what he actually plans on doing here.
hey jeff i agree with you. this guy doesn't have a clue on what needs to be done. everyday i check every site with giants info hoping to hear that we signed somebody. and everytime i leave disappointed. i guess he's happy that he got droughns and doesn't plan on doing anything else. i hate to say it but it looks like this so called gm of ours is looking to the draft.
